Linda carried in two bottles of a robust rioja and filled glasses before taking a seat across from Rey on the rattan armchair. She picked up her laden plate. “The thunder sounds like it’s returning with a vengeance.” “Perfect night for a murder,” Gail jested with a meager smile, claiming her glass and taking a sip. “We may have one,” Rey said and quickly detailed what had transpired to the Vespuzzi cousin. “s**t, no kidding?” Frowning, Gail took another sip. “But they don’t actually have proof that it was murder?” Rey shook her head. “This has to be the weirdest case we’ve ever had.” “You haven’t had that many,” Petey reminded her. “You’ve had some weird ones, I take it?” Linda asked, curious.
