After waving off Petey at the airport, the four of us decided to grab take-out burgers and fries on the return trip home. “My place or yours?” Sach asked as he pulled onto our street. Sticking her head between Sach and Linda in the front, Rey replied, “Eddy’s got the kids until nine, so let’s do yours.” “You got it.” “Dang. I can’t wait to dig into that food. It smells delicious,” Linda said. “Fat Frankie makes the best,” he grinned. “You’ll love the Kalbi ribs, too.” “Did you see that?” Rey asked urgently. “What?” Sach and I asked in unison. “I saw a guy standing on the sidewalk, by the palm tree beside our driveway.” “Guys are allowed to walk along sidewalks or stand by palms,” Linda told her. “Your imagination’s getting the better of you.” She peered behind. “He’s gone.” Sach
