The Field With The Pond

I politely declined and stood up on my own. “I didn't think you cussed. Like...ever.”  I looked down at his sneakers while we walked. “I don't. Hell isn’t a cuss word. It's used in church and my mom let me say it when i was like 10” his sneakers are black, the laces look torn and the sneakers have a blue stripe on the side. They look old yet new at the same time.  We walked in silence as a fatal question popped in my head. I don't know where i'm going. I stop in my tracks and it takes Zain a  second to realize. I look back behind me. The school is still in view, if I run I could make it. I look back at him. I don't want to ruin my quiet good girl reputation . No one talks to me because they don't have a reason to. I don't want to give them a reason. On the other hand I could risk my reputation to go with a hot guy to wherever the hell he’s taking me. I never risk it but….i don't know...i don't know him. My body moves for me as I turn around and nearly run into him again. “Second thoughts?” he says reading my face “you don't have to come if you don't want to. I'm not gonna force you to come with me.” he says .Welp. Now I do have to, people only use the ‘you don't have to’ to make you feel bad for coming with and then just deciding to go back. “No-well yes- but i made up my mind. I'm coming with you.'' I straightened my back and put on a big smile and menovuored around him and started walking and he followed. Now is my chance. “So, where are we going?” I said forcing energy into my voice. I wish I had some coffee, I need it. “It's a surprise…” he said clearly smiling. A small laugh escaped my lips. It was a real laugh. I haven’t had a real laugh in so long. I skipped alongside him feeling a strange burst of energy I was skipping and skipping and he fell behind watching and chuckling at me “hurry up slowpoke” I said laughing. Just then I see him jogging towards me and my instinct is to run. So I do. I tripped and tumbled down what looks like a six to seven-foot hill. I stood up but as soon as I did I saw him sprinting towards me and I took off running. What felt like 10 seconds later he ran up behind me and tackled me and we rolled around in the grassy hill wrestling. When we stopped I rolled to the side and just kept rolling in the soft grass and then popped up and looked around me. A large green field ending towards a pond.  No not your average pond with mud, sticks, and ducks. No, this had dirt yes but the center was a perfectly clear light blue and spread out into a transparent blue brown. The blue was more noticeable then the brown. There were brightly colored flowers circling the pond and fading out into the field. Rocks in every size traced the edge of the pond and crawled up the wall and ended at the edge of a cliff. It was beautiful.
