Chapter 16: Impulse
Isabella Gomez returned home very late, her expression relatively relaxed. She even managed to smile at Jonathan Sanders as she walked through the door.
"Did you manage to settle things?" Jonathan Sanders was skeptical. Theodore Davis's actions had already shown his character; it was unlikely that he would compromise just because Isabella Gomez came to plead with him in person.
Could this girl have been tricked?
"Not yet," Isabella Gomez shook her head. "But I waited outside Theodore Davis's door today. Although he didn't see me, he agreed to meet me at Street Garden tomorrow night for a talk."
