It came... my day came. That morning I would start working at the Wayford and I was super excited. A new chapter of my life was about to begin and I couldn’t wait to concentrate on it.
I got ready for the occasion. I wore a back knee-length skirt and a burgundy turtleneck blouse with no sleeves. It was too hot for a tailleur. At 7:30am I was ready. Ready for my first day of work.
“Good morning princess!” Rachel said still sleepy. “So? Are you ready?”
“Definitely,” I replied smiling.
“Good luck.”
“Thank you Rachel. What will you do?”
“The same routine. I’ll send a few resumes around. I’m going shopping... my usual.”
“Okay. Well, I’m going,” and when I closed the door behind me I felt guilty. Rachel didn’t find a job yet and I knew how useless she was feeling in that period. S
