The portal’s energy wrapped around us, tugging with an unearthly force. We stumbled forward, and within seconds, we were spat out into an unknown place. The ground was covered in dark, dense moss, with thick tree roots snaking through the earth, casting long shadows. The sky hung low, smothered by dark clouds that seemed to pulse and churn as if alive. Samuel, Fred, and Noelle were waiting just outside the portal.
