Chapter 2: Welcome to Da Emerald high school

"wakie wakie sleepy head" mother said as she tapped me gently,
"ooh mom" I grumbled as I covered my face with the duvet.
"Baby wake up and get dressed for school. I'm sure you don't want to be late on your first day", mom said.
"Good morning mom", I greeted her, turning in her direction.
"Good morning darling, freshen up quickly and come down for breakfast. Dad will drive you to school, okay", Mom said as she left the room.
I got up from bed and headed into the bathroom to freshen up.
It had been two weeks since I left grandma and Australia. My mom and dad had asked for my forgiveness immediately we got home from Australia and I had decided it was best to forgive them since I was going to be staying with them now. Dad had me enrolled in Da Emerald high school, which he said was one of the best schools in Paris. The school had a very high population too.
"I just hope this school is gonna be really good" I muttered to myself while drying my hair. I put on a crop top with denim jeans. I packed my hair in a high ponytail, then I stuffed my books into a black bag mom had got me last week. After that, I left the room, heading to the dining for breakfast after breakfast I got into the car with dad and he drove me to school.
"Bye sweetheart" dad said as I got down from the car.
"Bye dad", I replied, blowing him a kiss before going into the school building.
"ohh" I grumbled, suddenly realising that I didn't know where to go, I walked down the lane still not knowing where to go.
"Excuse me", I heard someone say behind me. I turned in the direction of the voice, only to see
a teacher,
"Good morning miss", I greeted her.
"Morning dear, Jadine right" she said. I nodded my head, surprised at how she knew my name.
"I'm miss Louise" she said as she stretched her hands towards me.
"Okay", I replied, taking her hands.
"I know you don't know your way, so just follow me".
"Okay" I replied.
We kept walking down the lane. We were walking past a class when she turned and got into the class. I followed her just as she had instructed.
"hi class"she said
"Morning Miss Louise". They chorused
"Morning,, dearies, anyway, this is Jadine, she's gonna be joining you guys, Jadine, can you please introduce yourself" she said, tapping my shoulder.
"Hi everyone, I'm Jadine Brownson. It's nice meeting you all. Thank you" I said, feeling nervous.
"So, Jadine, what's your seat number" she asked?
"Number 23" I replied.
"over there" she said, pointing at an empty seat.
I walked towards the seat while Miss Louise took her leave. When I got to my seat, I sat down, took out a novel from my bag and began reading.
"Hi" I heard someone say beside me.
I turned in the direction of the voice only to see a pretty girl with her hair tied up in a bun. She wore a pink crop top on top of black pants.
"Hi" I replied.
"I'm Sophie Jacobson" she said.
"I'm Ja..." I tried to say.
"Oh no don't worry, I know the name already. You introduced yourself, remember"she said, smiling.
"Oh I almost forgot" I said, palming my face. "so everyone knows my name now? I asked, looking up at her.
"Yeah, they do because you told them" she said, smiling. "Anyway, welcome to Da Emerald high school"She said, still smiling.
it seems like she smiles a lot. I thought
"Thank you, I hope I enjoy my stay", I replied.
"Hope so too" she said with a smirk on her face.
"why t..." I was saying when a teacher walked into the class.
"hi class" she said
"Hi miss Linda" we chorused.
"Quiet everyone, let's get to work" she said.
LUNCH BREAK
It's lunch break, Sophie and I are in the cafeteria.
"What would you like to eat", Sophie asked.
"Bread rolls and lemonade, what about you?" I asked.
"Pizza tuphe and lemonade too" she said,
"okay" i said
"So let's go place our orders" she said, pointing to the direction of the order stand
"Yeah sure" I said, standing up.
"No, you just sit while I get our meals". Sophie said
"OK" I said, sitting back. I watched as Sophie walked to the order stand, then I got out my phone.
I was looking through my phone when I felt someone ruffle my hair. I was about to turn, to see who it was, when Sophie came with the meals.
"Baby girl, our meal is here" Sophie said, whining."Thank you" I said, taking my meal from her.
"You're welcome" she said, sitting down. "did you ruffle your hair?" she asked.
"No, someone ruffled my hair and I have no idea who it is" I said, frowning.
"Who could it be" she asked.
"I have no idea who it is" I replied.
"Well, anyone can do that. We have so many bullies in this school."
"seriously". I asked
"Yeah, I think I should tell you more about this school," Sophie said.
"Wait Sophie, you can tell me about that later. For now I'm pressed and I really do want to use the restroom", I said, standing up.
"OK sure" she said, sipping from her lemonade.
"the direction" I asked.
"of what" she asked, staring at me with a confused look?
"the restroom, are you forgetting I'm new here"? I asked
"Almost, that aside, when you get out of the cafeteria area, go down a little and turn to your left. Use the second, because the first is for the males.
"OK thank you miss", I said as I left the cafeteria.
