a demon

1047 Words
"No slacking!" A demon with long pitch-black hair and a fattened torso lays on a rock watching over hundreds of demons fighting against each other. It's six long noodles like arms and legs grab things around it to throw into the pit which the other demons are fighting in.  "What is it Mammon?" The ghostly looking demon approaches behind the other watching the battle below them unfold. "Have any of them died today, Belphegor?" The demon shakes his head. "No, but the day isn't over, not yet." Belphegor continues to pelt rocks at the fighters, and they doge them with an agility that's showing of the well-trained warriors. However, soon Belphegor stops, calling down to the group of demons. "Captains take over!" The group stops and seven demons emerge from the group, they are soon over by Belphegor's side. "You will work them till the day is over. They only take a break when one of them dies. That break will  last as long as it takes for the body to be transported out, understood?" The seven demons nod. "Yes!" They turn and continue the match. "Did those troublesome two try to pin their job on me again?" Mammon groans, confirming the demon’s claim. "I don't know why they don't like their job. It's significantly easier than any other. However, something is troubling me. Asmodeus has played dumb two days in a row now." Belphegor stops, looking at Mammon in confusion. "Asmodeus played dumb? The smartest one here played dumb?" Belphegor nods. "I agree it's bothersome. Should we check up on them? Just to create conversation and see if they would tell us what is the matter." Belphegor contemplates the suggestion, then nods. "I don't see why not. It's not like Asmodeus wouldn't tell us." As the pair approach the mound they see a female and her glowing white wings put them on alert the second they do. "Mammon, do you see that?" "Yes, unfortunately." Both demon lords hurry over and approach the being. Stopping just before coming onto the hill. "Who are you? What business do you have in our domain?" The woman glances over at the demons. "I am here to kill my father, but your brothers have shown me to get to him I must go through you. You both are Belphegor and Mammon, no?" Belphegor's interest piques as the demon hears this, stepping closer to the being. "Yes, but do we know you? Who is your father? I assumed it was God but if you were not where you could get to our father before then it must be someone else." She looks at them for a moment, confused about why the demon only cares about that point in the conversation. "Unless you can tell me where my father is it's none of your business and I’ll be on with what I need to do, which is destroying you two." Belphegor chuckles and approaches the girl with Mammon following close behind. "Well, I'd know where any being is located in this realm." The girl looks away from Belphegor, closing her eyes and resting. "Impossible, then you would have known I was here." Belphegor studies the girl. "You must be one of Lucifer's spawn, you show no willingness to cooperate just as his other spawn do. Not to mention no other being here has those wings and eyes." The woman doesn't respond and that is all the answer Belphegor needs. "I see. So you must miss your mother as well. As they all do. They never saw much of their father as he was always doing God's bidding. So you must be bitter. Revenge, is that your aim?" The girl turns to the demon, becoming more intrigued. "How do you know this?" Belphegor hums, amused how spot on he was.. "Well, as a child of God I was neglected by my father and I wished I had a mother to depend on. In a lot of ways, your father has become that mother. Nursing us to health and giving us a home. However, it's different for you. As I'm sure you know he left Hell. To where, Lucifer did not say to all of you because following him would mean death by his father and that he cannot undo. However, I'll tell you now. He has traveled to Earth in search of your mother. It's where all of you were made. Where your mother is from." The woman, hearing this, becomes infuriated. "Impossible! I'm told that father killed mother, upset that she caused him to be trapped in this hole after I was born." Belphegor smiles sympathetically at the infuriated child. "Why do you simply smile! What, have your lies run out!" Belphegor simply shakes its drooping head. "If I told you the truth you would simply become enraged and confused such as you’ve done now. So, child, I'll give you the blessing of ignorance and you may do what you must." The girl becomes disgusted and lifts her hand, stopping every organ in the demon's body. After a while, Belphegor collapses, deceased, and on the ground.  "And I give you the blessing of a painless death.” She looks over to the other demon who stares in utter disbelief. "You've killed him." Mammon is in shock. A being seeming to be so weak has ended Belphegor with merely a hand raise, an angel could never do such a thing. "Yes, and I will kill you as well. If you choose to submit to me it will be as painless as this one's death." Mammon laughs, making its shadowy body dense, holding the demon's treasures closer to it. "You think I would just submit to you!" The demon let's go of its bones and in doing so becomes almost impossible to see. Mammon approaches the girl and attempts to enter her body through her nose but she is not ignorant of the demon being near like it assumes. She reaches out and snaps her fingers, turning the being’s body into a solid block of black. Mammon falls to her feet and she steps on it, crumbling it under her weight. She smirks, and looks over to the pile, then looking back over the wasteland at her perch. "It didn't have to be this way."
