Winnie Thursday afternoon, I sit at the lunch table reading a self-help book. I've been on the job for a month now. My lunch, chick salad, is off to the side. Next to the book is my journal. I tap my pen on my journal as I read. It's the third book I've read so far. Chandler is good at picking books. So far, I've learned I have reached the "bargaining" stage of grief. Yet, sometimes I still think about what I could give, donate, provide, etc., in exchange for Andrew. I'd quit work at LaBelle. I'd marry a man Mother wants me to marry. I'd end my relationship with Chandler. However, as I conclude another chapter in this book, it doesn't make sense. Nothing will bring Andrew back to me.
