1879 Words
FYI FOR THE DAY   Dragonettes- a small breed of dragons who breathes out flair of smoke when furious; They eat fruits and territorial to the tress they mark for them. If you want to pick fruit in their tree, you should give them gifts. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------     I rise early before the sunrise, the whole ordeal to make at ease in this place and not to let me bored is funny to me.   I am a stranger in the dragon’s sanctuary and for them, not to trust me is apprehensive.   I am gazing at the sky; the color orange sprinkles in the clouds as the sun hits its horizon, slowly peeking in.   I am startled when a manly voice speaks; I turn around. He is Xynierre,   “Good morning,” he stares at me blankly.   “you’re early,” he snapped me out in my sleepy state of mind,   “yeah, I cannot sleep well,” I honestly admit.   “I see this is a new environment. I cannot blame you not to feel comfortable.” Xynierre casually speaks to me as if we have known each other for a long time.   I do not bother giving him answers,   “Where are we going,” I supplied tonelessly,   “Did you ate breakfast?” He smirks and throws me another question,   “I have no appetite,” I straightforwardly utter.   “Okay, we will go then. Follow me.” Xynierre walks, and I follow him in the woods.   Now and then, a dragons fly in the sky. There are different colors of those dragons flying above us.   I titled my head, Xynierre is in his human form. I have the feeling he is not planning to change in his dragon self.   He walks a meter away from me, not saying any word. I heard birds chirping, squeaking sounds. We are entering the forest, and it is bountiful in tress; sunlight is seeping through those tall trees.   The colors in the forest radiantly vibrant; the colors are all presents in the flowers, leaves, and the animals and birds. The dragon itself is colorful.   The forest is lively, veins plants, and flowers are everywhere, even trees with plentiful fruits. Xynierre harvests some fruits and put it in his bag.   “We have the best fruit, sweet, and it tastes good,” Xynierre encouraging me to taste some.   The fruits look delicious, and my stomach crumbles suddenly. I am craving for food.   I stop in a tree as it has many fruits; I am about to pick a fruit when a small dragon growl. The dragon seems distracted at me, wanting me to back down, but I get the fruit in an instance.   The little dragon's breaths, it seems irritated, the other dragons same as it kind comes out. They are ten of them, looking at me with blazing fire.   “I am..” I utter, holding the fruit   I turn around, staring unbelievably to Xynierre; he is smiling widely, looking fond.   “can you do something; why are they mad?” I glanced despairingly,   “you pick fruit without asking; they guard that tree, it is their territory,” Xynierre chuckles,   “What is even funny at this point?” I stood motionless,   “Why are you laughing,” I am pissed at Xynierre reaction,   “I ask you if you want some fruits, but you ignore me and get that on your own. I am here to tour you around, but it seems you wanted to learn things your way.” Xynierre gummy smiles shows.   “Oh, so what are you trying to imply?” I am irritated.   ‘deal with it,” Xynierre leave me behind,   The dragonettes are grinding their teeth and furiously staring at me.   “I only get one fruit,” I let out a wail,   One dragonette runs fast towards me; I close my eyes as I do not hear any commotion. I open my eyes,   The dragonette stop in front of me, sparkling eyes, looking at my bracelet accessory,   “do you like those?” I narrowed my eyes,   The dragonette all nods in glee. I have no choice but to take off my bracelets, all of them, and give it to them.   They all gladly have it; they each take a piece of my accessory.   “My mother would be mad at me if she knows I given my bracelets away, that is a gift of her mother to her and passes to me. I cannot think of another way to escape the dragonette’s fury,” I sigh, those thoughts play in my mind. I show them the fruit I have in my hand; they shove me away instead. They let me have the fruit in exchange for my bracelet.   I quickly get off the place and reach an open area where the mountains and the Village is a splendid view. The scenery is breathtaking; the clouds and the fogs combined are like a bed in the air, forming different shapes.   The green mountains are vast, and dragons are landing here and there, and it is a sight to behold. The things I never knew existed come to life before my eyes. I smile cheekily as my heart jumps in excitement. I forget the bracelets that I give away. I am amazed at all the things I see.   I heard a “swoosh’ sound, a flying dragon heading in my way. My eyes widen; the dragon is landing in my area. I have to run and give the dragon away, but before I do, someone grabs me. I feel the strong arms enveloping me, and carry me lightly, as that someone jumps in the piles of rocks.   The strong muscles embracing my waist securely for me not to fall, my jaw drops as I realize wherein the side of the mountain, hanging. My whole body is floating in the air; the wind is rushing through my hair and dress. The sole of my feet feels the air blowing. I look below me. I gasp, it is a creek down there. A small stone comes rolling, and I see how it becomes pebbles when it reaches the ground.   The only grip that kept me on air is the man who holds me in my waist. I stare shockingly to Xynierre; his right hand is gripping tightly in a stone.   ‘No way, what if you slip,” I said hysterically,   “Just hold on to me,” he whispers to me,   I brace both of my hands in his shoulders; I feel he swiftly sways his whole body dangerously, gliding from rocks to rocks till we are in a stable place, fine grass under the sole of my feet. I look above me, I breathe in, at last, we are stepping in a land.   I realize I am hugging Xynierre tightly, and he is holding my entire body carefully like I am a fragile vase.   I immediately unhook my arms into him and shyly look away. Xynierre booming voice envelopes the mountains.   “How could you?” he menacingly growl.   I am blushing red, and I am nervous to hear that tone from him, but I realize he is not talking to me. He is referring to someone else. Xynierre calling that person out, I wonder who that person is and, I remember the dragons that wanted to land in this area.   “Hello there, my Xynierre,” a gorgeous woman graciously walking towards us.     She is indeed a beauty, her fine long blonde hair; her eyes are sky blue, her curved, voluminous body.   “my Xynierre,” it rings my ear, she maybe Xynierre’s dragon mate.     “Please,” Xynierre hopelessly sighs.   “Too early, to ridicule me,” Xynierre gives a piercing look,   “Why? Are you glad when I am calling you that,” the woman teasing,   “ Are you the one who does not want to deal with anything about me, remember?” Xynierre voice is firm.   “oh’ My Xynierre is my way of showing you some fun. Are you on for some challenge," the woman smile giddily,   Xynierre gape at her, bewildered, he titled his head. He holds my waist.   “Let’s go. We have places to go,” still giving a prying look to the woman,   “Why don’t you introduce me to her?” the woman intentionally riling him up,   I feel his chest heave up and down, releasing some air, sensing the woman challenging her in an intensely look, the woman does not back down but gives the same stare.   “You know her, Cynr introduces her to everyone,” Xynierre still holding my waist.   “oh’ the mermaid,” she hisses.   I do not know how to take her remarks, but it sounds insulting as if being a mermaid is a disgusting thing. I raise my eyebrow, to think of it; this woman lands in my way even if she knows I am standing in that area. I can feel the woman has something against me. I do not know if it is me being a mermaid or it is has something to do with Xynierre being physically close to me at the very moment.   I flinched; trying to get away with his bare hands enveloping my waist, but he is strong; I cannot remove his arms. I stare at him as he is looking at the woman with fiery eyes in front of us. I can feel his muscles tense; he is angry.   “Who are you?” I break the silence   ‘I am Xynierre’s fiance, I am Solaine,” the beautiful woman introduces herself,   “Ex-fiance, if I may correct you,” Xynierre breathing heavily under his lungs,     “We do not discuss that Xynierre, we are still under the bind,” Solaine smirks.   Xynierre fiery eyes become colorful red, his temperature is rising, and I can feel it. He is close to me not to notice his system is agitated.   “Please,” I hold his arms to calm his nerves,   Xynierre steps aback as he feels my touch; Solaine's discriminating look at me as if it can bury me in her stares.   “How dare you!” she shouts, her face screwed up.   My attention is in my hand that holding Xynierre’s bare arms. I know as a future Maiden. I should not involve myself in any trouble, especially that I am not in my Fortress but the stranger's land.   The dragons are the least species; any mythical creature wanted to anger unless you wanted to die, and you do not value your life. I calm my nerves and take a deep breath. I take off my hands in Xynierre’s arm.   I hold Xynierre’s arms that enveloping my waist. I try so hard to remove it even if Xynierre’s does not want too. I look at him, and he understands, he let go.   I face the woman in front of us who is fiery in anger because of jealously, I believe. I bow in front of her and give my respect.   “ Miss Solaine, please know that I am a visitor here. I have no intention to disturbs your peace nor take your man,” I emphasize every word,   “take my man,” the woman mockingly spills.   “Mermaids, think highly of themselves. As if you can get my man, I do not know what your Maiden did to Raiden for him to act crazy like that, but If that happens once, that will never happen again. You think you can lure any creatures you wanted too. Well, not on my watch, especially not my man,” Solaine quavering, temper, and voice, rising together.   Solaine is not backing off, she seems to mark her territory, and it is obvious she hated the fact that I am around his man. She views me as a threat, and that message sends through her actions and how she treats me. I knew by that moment. My life would never be easy.   Copyright: This story is solely my ideas and creative thinking. Please do not copy, use, distribute, or reproduce. © January Garneth.2020.
