He nodded slowly. “Before your father died, he reached out to a private security firm—one I was working with at the time. Mr . Lawrence, suspected something was off with Kelly the moment you brought him as your supposed husband-to-be. According to him, there were signs of missing documents, financial irregularities, and unexplained threats from the moment he joined the company. So he wanted someone to watch from afar, someone who could protect you if things went backward.”
Rose's heart hitched. “So dad knew..?”
“Yes but not everything. I believe enough to make him contact a private agent. So, When your dad passed, the contract was extended—to watch over you and report if anything suspicious happened in the company or your marriage. You see that night I found you on the road... it was no random mistake.”
“It means..you were watching me.. right?”
Richard nodded. “Yes. But I wasn’t prepared for how I’d feel now.”Rose's heart tightened. “you mean.... this whole time you have…”

Rose turned her face from him, emotions twisting inside her….

Just then a knock sounded on the door. Richard opened it slightly to find his second-in-command, James.
“Boss. I just intercepted an encrypted software note. It’s from Kelly’s private server…..”
Tension runs in Richard's face. “What does it say, James?”
James handed over a tablet to him. “I believe It’s a directive to it. Kelly l is not just going after Rose through court. He’s putting a bounty on her head.”
Her blood ran cold. “A bounty…why?”
James nodded his head. “Seven hundred thousand if you’re found Alive. Two million, if dead on arrival.”
Mathew’s fist slammed against the wall, such a bastard.
“Yes, the bastard doesn’t want justice or anything. It's clear he wants war.” James said.
“But who did he send it to?” Richard inquiries.
James hesitated for a moment. “The Black Dagger Network (TBDN).”

“But who are they?” Rose asked, panic starting to rise and her hands shaking
Richard met her eyes. “ Professional mercenaries killers. A well-trained ex-military body, with off-grid operatives knowledge. So good that they don’t ask questions. The only language they understand is “K.I.L.L.”
Her voice froze. “Is Kelly desperate to get rid of her?”
