Chapter 22

Nelda/Luna mission....

Now gradually waking up from what felt like a long nap, she saw that they had laid a cloth for her to sleep in, she felt her head hurt as they seemed not to have seen her waking up yet

Nelda and Brakka were discussing when Luna woke up some hours after she bad fainted, they both made sure she was resting comfortablely after she had fainted

Being unable to feed her since she was unconscious Nelda kept her food arranged by her side, two medium sized fishes and a big lump of meat from the boar, which Brakka had recently prepared, as he and Nelda were still eating there part

Still feeling a bit dizzy Luna collected a fish from the bowl they have kept it in for her and started chewing it, bringing their attention to her as they could hear the sound of her chewing the fish roughly

They both turned their head to look as Luna who was now concentrated on now devouring her fish after waking up to such intense hunger, Nelda rushed towards her to her side 

"Hey Lu, are you okay?" She asked her, touching her body to see if she was still as hot as she was when she fainted

They had applied some healing ointments on both of her hands which was now dried now so Luna couldn't notice it, but she could tell from the still floating aroma of the ointment in the air that something like that happened

“Yes I am” she turned her face in embarrassment that she was being treated like a baby, and that made her blush a lot, Nelda was just too caring for her liking

“How does your head feel now child” Brakka asked her as she smiled in a weird "it's a bit dizzy but it's getting alright" Luna said, she always smiled when Brakka calls her a child as she it sent a different kind of feeling through her, a feeling of care and being love by a father

Luna had now sit up while still on the ground with her back now resting on a rock which supported her adequately

Nelda seeing the high embarassment in Luna's face as they had cared too much for her smiled "we are like a family you know" she said as she open wide her hands and hugged Luna

Luna who had the fish in hand when Nelda knelt down and bent over to give her a hug, she froze as Nelda hugged her tightly, a bit of Nelda golden hair on the fish she had been eating

‘Thats new she thought 'jave they ever had a hug before' letting go of the now relieved Luna, Nelda whispered to her ear “we are family” as she got up to go back to where she had been sitting down, talking with Brakka

Luna who was now relieved from everything as she gently eat her food now out of the attention of Nelda and Brakka as they had confirmed that she was ok

Those words ‘we are family’ was really working to improve Lina mood as she thought about it with a smile on her face

If we were family that means I would likely be the child, while Nelda and Brakka the parents Luna smiled in silence as she thought of that

Brakka and Nelda would be married then, she laughed at the impossibility of that, as it was clear that they are were really close friends with no romantic feelings attached in the least

"We should go get some items later" Nelda said to Luna who was now almost done with the food , suspending her conversation with Brakka for a while

“As we would be both going on the mission very soon, preparation are important to be made ” 

“And as for the mission, it's going to one very stressful, so we would have to rest for a long while to be able to carry it out” Nelda said to a Luna

Now all was done and set for them to leave, they ventured out of the palm tree field which they have been training on since for weeks non stop

“Lets go drop you off at your place” Nelda said to Brakka "then we will both go to the location where the mission is to start from" 

Luna now in her mind thinking 'how was it possible', she had not seen Nelda passed her during the race, the only logical solution she could think of was that Nelda had disappeared to where Brakka was

How else could what had happened able to occur she thought harder, if she was to go pass another way apart from the straight line of different tree, she would have just succeeded in making her journey to the hill a lot longer than necessary

'Or wait a minute' don't tell me Nelda had flew past me when i had fell down from the tree she thought in shock, buy immediately drove the thought away, that would have been impossible, Nelda would have stopped for her, no matter what was on the line, Nelda was throughly an angel

Reaching the home of Brakka sent her out of her intense thought of what had occued in the race, which was still much of a mystery to her and making a mental note to ask Nelda about it later

Nelda who had been watching Luna in a face that shows confusion and she definitely knew the reason for it, 'she must be so confused right now' Nelda thought, 'who wouldn't be confused after what happened' she smiled

Need to put her mind at peace soon by telling her how I did it Nelda said in her mind as they reached Brakka place

“Would you come inside for a while to take a meal” Brakka asked, and they both laughed at the statement

“Who would want to eat again after consuming so much meat and fish" Luna said smiling

“Yeah Brakka, we are satisfied and even overflowing with a full belly, the food will have no place to go to if we ate more" Nelda added

The house where Brakka lived was a small home without a up deck all flat, and in the street, all the houses looked just the same making Luna and Nelda always confused whenever they come to visit or pick him up

His house was located at a nearby town to Heatherstown, called Orman's cribs, know for it's lookalike houses filling of the place, a new passerby without a guide would definitely get lost in such a place

Brakka waved at them as they started their journey off to get on their mission which far away from Heatherstown and Orman's crib

"Take the path and not too far off, you will get to a stable where you can rent a horse to travel to the any far destination where your mission is set to be in" he had told them before they left

Now that just Nelda and Luna were alone, they were walking and covering distance to get to the stable Brakka had mentioned to them before they had left

The path was clear and wide with just a few trees around and grass growing at both sides of the path, they could see afar into the road ahead getting their blocked by the trees after the huge rock lying by the side, it was after these trees, which went in for a bit of a distance would the stable be at the right side, Brakka had told them

“I know what have been on your mind for this long” Nelda said, thinking it's now finally time to reveal the details  

“Oh oh Yes" she reacted as she was all over Nelda, “I really need to know, all my thoughts on its logic of how you did it seems to fail me" Luna said as Nelda laughed without reserve

“Yeah, I have noticed you thinking about it for a long while now, and I must say you look cute cracking your brain up that way” Nelda laughed again as she said this

“What's funny” Luna nudged Nelda with her elbow "and you couldn't put me out of my misery quick enough?" Luna asked her with a look of 'oh, so it's like that' expression as Nelda smiled at her

“What?, I said it looked cute, why would I obstruct seeing that your cute expression” she said waving a finger at Luna's face, who blushed in embarrassment

Getting relieved from the glee, Luna still curious asked her "so how did you do it?"

“Oh I used a secret technique to carry that one out” she said in a different smoothing voice to convey a feeling and laughed at how Luna reacted to it

“Ok, here is it, after you were gone gliding through the trees, I followed after you in the jump, you were fast in releasing I must say ” Nelda gave Luna a thumbs up as she started explaining

“Then I decided to use a secret technique so as to teach you a lesson” Luna playfully poked her again on the stomach with her elbow

"As I was gliding from one tree to another, I targeted a glide I was going to use for my swing, so on getting there I pulled myself sideways to avoid a direct hit at the tree the string was attached to, and also pulled myself downwards, making the pull harder as the string got shorter"

“ This graduated in a full swing as l quickly unattached the string when the forceful motion was already in place, taking me up in the sky as I could see the top of all the trees around”

Now on their journey to the stable they had already reached the huge rock near to the group of trees which was like a mini forest, Nelda was explaining the mystery Luna could not get over since, as she listens quietly

“Using that opportunity as I was so high in the sky, I shot the Electra zipper string so far at the palm trees towards the hill, almost running out of string as the distance was so far" Luna who now had the Wow expression on her on hearing this thought it a hard feat to carry out

"This made for a free glide through the air requiring much less stress than moving from tree to tree, and made it so much faster” Nelda said

“Wow, that's so unbelievable, must have been scary and satisfying to achieve such a skill” Luna said in total admiration for her master

“Yeah, seeing how fast and freely I moved in the air after the jump, I just knew that I have passed you by a long margin” Nelda concluded

Now having seen the stable from afar near a bunch of trees "finally" Luna exhaled, “time to gallop in the wind”

‘knock….. knock.…. Knock....’ Nelda went to knock on the door of the stable, as they reached its front

“And who is there” an old man's voice called out from inside as they heard his footsteps coming forward

“Its me” Nelda said like the stable man was supposed to know her

Opening the door she greeted him as he came out of the stable, he used a walking stick to move around, already having white beards all over and a bald head, he was short in height, though not slanting as he stands straight up

“Oh wow” he said as he saw Nelda golden hair “that's a rare one”

“We are friends of Brakka from Orman's crib, you must know him am sure” Nelda began talking to the old man

“Oh yes, of course, Brakka” he replied, not adding anything else as he sat down in his small stool at the front of his stable

So Nelda thought it better not to prolong the matter “He said using his name would give us a good deal”

“You need a horse?” the man asked "how many?" He asked again "you know those are costly these days"

Nelda noticed he was talking on autopilot with the way he said it, ‘must have said these same exact words to all the customers who had come by’

“yes, we need two horses for the both of us” Nelda told him to make things move faster seeing that he was ready to have a long talk with him sitting down

“Ok, it's 500 shillings for each” the old man said 

“what?....” Nelda said in a way to show suprise "why on earth is it so huge, that's a fortune for just a horse"

“Ok 480, take it or leave it ”the old man said bluntly

Not wanting to spending anymore time in continuation of the negotiation, which she knows the old man who sat down comfortable was ready to go at it for a long while, probably didn't have any other thing to do, thereby taking his time

"Ok we would be taking it for the price, 480 right?" Nelda agreed to the old man's offer, bringing out the money to give to him

“500 shillings, like I said ” the old man said without looking at the money

‘Oh damn' Luna was furiated now using her Electra zipper, she shot it, purposely striking the floor near the old man and it retracting back immediately

“Oh no Lu, don't do that" she said to her apprentice Luna then turned immediately to the old man adding more 20 shillings to the other first part she brought out, offering it to the old man

Taking the money and raising up "follow me" he told them as he moved towards the back of the stable, showing them the horses available for use

Nelda the golden eagle and her apprentice Luna was now on a full ride to their mission, saddling up the horses as they gallop off the stable, taking in the wind they enjoy so much

“How long does it take to get to get to the Dukes meadow ” Luna asked Nelda, as she remembered their discussion last night about the mission

"The Organization have sent me a letter a few days ago, we are to track a general od the Red dynasty and transfer any information that we are able to get" she had told Luna "Get the information in any way as possible, that's what the letter said, and I must keep the agreement for the split no to go badly"

“it would take about a day's ride, so one and a half days considering we need to rest, eat and sleep”
