Chapter 48

Durid secret library....

Durid now having his full attention on the set of people right in his front who had come out of nowhere visible

But then his tension had slowed down into a calm state as two people he had developed a relationship with before were now among the group

“Hey, how's it's going” Belitrus took steps forward to greet his old acquittance, in order to lessen the tension in the air as they have both seen eachother before and bonded well

“All good, welcome back to the library of wonders” Durid said to Belitrus

“Who are the extra two package you guys brought along with you” he asked being a bit suspicious

“Oh yeah right” Belitrus responded as he turned to the two extra guests Durid was referring to

"This is Goth, he's a friend of me and Sybella, we were on our way here when we met him, so we decided to bring him along" Belitrus explained

Durid didn't respond much to the introduction of Goth, as he was not yet cool with the stranger, he just nodded his head in confirmation

“And this is Elvira, the one we told you about from the lands outside the mine….”

Belitrus had not even finished introduction of Elvira when he saw the eyes of Durid grow wild in excitement “Prefect” he declared

Now totally free after much tension and more glad than ever that they were here along with the very person he have been longing to see for a long time now; Elvira

“Welcome, you all, and you are particularly highly welcomed to the secret Library” Durid had said, leaving the space beside the injured older man where he had been all these while

"Elvira..., Oh such wonders to be able to stand in one of thee" Durid said as he came forward in order to get the feeling of a real flesh who have come from outside the mine, not just the from the tales of books

“Thank you, your hospitality is of the highest regard” Elvira replied as he came to hug and hold her hands

“Its wonderful to have you hear...” he paused a bit “….oh great wanderer from the outside world” he said in a slower tone and pace

Elvira looked a little bit surprised, is this a special attribute of him or what, the other Savagers didn't even seem this way

She just nodded her head slowly in a mixed feeling of confirmation and unknowing how to react after his statement as he was still holding both her hands

“ha aha.… Hah” Durid broke into laughter

“Oh…. Ok?” Elvira replied still having a bit of mixed feeling of what everything was headed

 "was just joking with you, common we aren't that ancient" he said amicably as he left her hands

“Come on guys, have a sit if there is one and make yourselves free , but not too free” he smiled

‘He had a unique sense of humour, a different kind ’ Elvira thought in her mind as she was now free to look around

“Wow… fascinating” Elvira eyes couldn't believe what she was seeing, “how on earth is something like this here inside the mines?” she asked Durid who was now by here side looking exactly where she looked

Standing side by side with eachother, Durid was a bit shorter than Elvira, as she had a tall and athletic body, built to perfection some may say

Replying to her question of ‘how on earth is something like this here inside the mines’ Durid said “i was meaning to ask you that”

“I have never read on the history of the mines formation and evolution, about anything that says about building a library or laboratory inside any of the mine” Elvira said, so he doesn't get too much hope of her revealing secrets she never know about

“Oh I see, then it must have been a secret project by your rulers sometime in history then”

“What a Marvelous painting” Elvira was now looking at a huge Painting hanging at the center in the right side of the wall

‘The style of this painting confirms that it was really the Red dynasty that had built the library a long time ago’

“Yeah, the library was really built by the rulers of the Red dynasty, and I think only a few people still have knowledge of its existence, even among the royal families”

“Yeah it's a nice piece isn't it Durid replied, “they are called artist, right?, Those who these kinds of things, I always dream of becoming an artist and making one of these kinds of thing anytime I see them” he added “its so beautiful, like creating your own world with colours”

“exactly, you are right, a world one would love to live in, not stick in such a world here where we are bound by, but I guess books convene such results way more than paintings” Elvira was an avid reader in the delightful romance of novels

“Yeah yeah, that's true, and luckily for me I had found such a great place filled with wonderful books, my treasure"

The rest of the group were now around the injured man who was already healing by the day, Sybella was now cleaning the wounds that were already covering and changing its covering 

“…You can't be serious, assasination squad from the Red dynasty?” Belitrus asked, having been in a conversation with the man since Elvira and Durid had wondered off into the library in discussion and sight seeing

“Yess…” the man was already tired from answering Durid questions and now he's being bombarded by a different set of questions, ‘tho from an interesting group of people’ 

Goth was in delight, but nobody could tell why, nor even knew he had a glee on his face finding such an important asset in the most mysterious of places

“So why would people from the outside send this assasination group to kill you, are you like some agent or all these high groups inside the mine” Sybella asked, without taking her time to think it through

 And the injured man broke into a nest of laughter, then started coughing heavily which was like he was choking in his cough

“Oh, what's happening…” Belitrus was alerted

“Hey, slow downn…., Slow down.….” Sybella came closer, rubbing his hands as she calmed him down

Seeing what had come out of his mouth during the severe coughing, she wipe it off using a small cloth nearby ‘oh, he must have developed some internal infection from the open wound, he may not last too long’

They could feel his heavy breathing as they talked to him, ‘He must have been in so much pain for so long’ Belitrus thought as Sybella continued holding on to his hand to give a sense of warmth to the injured man

“Whats your name?” Sybella suddenly asked 

“Oh let's just leave his be for now on his personal information, he maybe not be very comfortable revealing it to us strangers” Goth suddenly said after being quiet all this while

“At least he can just tell us his name, so we know who we are dealing with here, Durid have a reason for rescuing you and I want to know why” Sybella pressed on

“why don't you ask Durid directly, instead of disturbing the poor man” Goth interrupted again

Sybella now looked at him with a glaring eye, “Whats your problem with what we are doing here, your sounding…..”

“Ok, ok, carry on, just being sympathetic to the injured man here, just like when I was injured and you guys saved me” Goth caught her short before she could finish her statement

Sybella face now in a questioning look “ how is that the same thing with what you are doing here” she asked

Goth having no other way to defend himself again, just stood up and walked away from where they was

Sybella now continued asking the injured man her questions as Goth was now out of the way, ‘he was truly behaving weird she thought

'Tart...' Sybella suddenly heard a sharp strange sound pass her ear, turning her head to the side sent her into a temporary shock, a dart was pierced into Belitrus neck as he slowly lose consciousness

And it began to dawn on her, 'GOTH!!!' her mind screamed, and before she could scream out loudly in order to alert Elvira and Durid, a dart was already in her neck

Dizziness came over her, couldn't open her eyes clearly, as she tries to open, it closes back, her mouth seemed not able to move and she screamed inwardly, while her mouth strangely could not give heed to her command

And off she went, shut out of the world she was just in seconds ago

'Elvira, Durid.… GOTH!!' was her last thought before she fell into an unknown abyss, unknown of what had just transpired as her thoughts fades away

Elvira and Durid at the other side of the library were caught up in conversation that they could not tell what was going on in the other part of the library 

“'The bounds of hades" Elvira read aloud the name of the book she had just picked up, “Wow, just be a nice book, have you read it?” she asked Durid who was reading through some manuscript

“Oh, let me see that” Durid said as he stood up from where he was reading the manuscript

“No I don't think so, I avoid such books as it support the claims of which the people above put us under to satisfy their selfish needs” Durid replied

Elvira with one eyebrow raised in a doubting inquisitive look asked “how do you know that it is what the book contains”

“From the title of a book, one can tell a lot, Seeing this one is already a off putter am sure he replied as he was not interested in discussing about anything in relation to b*****e and subjuction

“You have an idea of Hades, right?” she quoted the name as reference, which was part of the name of the book

“No, I do not, but sesing the first part of the title 'bounds', it is definitely about subjecting my people into a life of subjugation, by the people in power or Red dynasty rulers as you call them”

“Yeah probably I guess, want to make things clear, I may be of royal blood of the Red dynasty and a noble, I have no support for the savage busines what so ever I promise” Elvira was feeling pity now for the subjugation that have been through all their lives

Durid smiled warmly “Yes I know, Belitrus and Sybella made it very clear the day they came and spoke about you to me, there's no need to worry yourself”

"Ok I got to show you something, haven't shown any of them and it's something I myself found out recently" Durid suddenly said as Elvira was still flipping through the book ‘The bounds of hades’

“Oh Ok...” Elvira said as she did not know what to expect

"so can you give me an idea of what it is you want to show me" she asked the now walking Durid as she followed him behind

“Oh, not to worry, we would soon get there” said Durid as he lead her through some narrow path of book self 

Suddenly stopping half way, “its here” he smiled

Elvira feeling a bit stupid that she had been tricked or successfully joked with as she did not see anything of mystery where they were but just books like everywhere

Durid smiled widely “am telling you, it's here,” he said staring straight at her into her eyes

‘Hope he's not about to do what I am thinking, cause this wouldn't end well for him trying to take advantage of me’

‘Seems like he was enjoying this game of his, taking me into some narrow corner of the library in pretense of discovering something new’ Elvira thought 'he shouldn't even try anything funny or he's not going to like how it ends' her thoughts started to boil

“Ok here comes the magic” Durid said and Elvira tighten up her hand into a first, 1prepared for anything about to come next

Pushing some books to the side and pulling a lever, the left part of the shelf suddenly splits into two, moving to both side as a path into a different but smaller hall surfaced

Entering fully into the hall, was something of a different nature all together, as Elvira couldn't believe her eyes and what was before her

“Wow, what on earth!!!..” her mind couldn't grasp the magnitude of such a place ever been anywhere, not even in the Red dynasty, “this is unimaginable”
