Chapter 65

One last stand…

The day was already getting to a sleeping time as Cussusex left the dinning hall together with lord Alzath

Thalia had seen the gesture Cussusex just made as he was leaving, running his hands across Alva shoulder on the most appealing way possible and she now knew with all certainty that something had happened between Alva and Cussusex

"… Galviberth would be filled with crowds and men of high standing, you should come lord Alzath…" 

They could hear Cussusex voice fades into the air as his and the lord of Alzhamera, lord Alzath went out of the dinning hall, not looking back

""There goes my last chance…" Thalia said immediately they were gone from sight

"It's not like his getting off the world" Alva said to console herself and her friend, "there would always be another time, either sooner or later"

Thalia looked directly at Alva after what she had just said

Did not say anything in confirmation of Alva statement nor in addition to it, just looked straight in her friends eyes with a feeling of being betrayed

"Need to finish this food…" She finally said as she look back down on her plate

Alva wasn't sure what was the matter as she continued doing her thing

"Your food is remaining so much, why didn't you eat when everyone were eating" Alva said as she was already done with her food and was now waiting for her friend to finish hers

"Don't worry about me, would take a while before I get this done" Thalia said hitting the meat in her plate using her spoon

"Oh…" Alva said in suprised

"Ok, then, gonna go lay my head on the bed in preparation for the next morning, being a stressful day today" she added

"Yeah stressful and fun,.. s**t" Thalia said, making the last word son low in sound 

"You say what?…." Alva asked immediately as she was in doubt of what she just heard

Stressful and fun, sure" Thalia repeated omitting some key words that she had said at the first statement

"See you later in the room then…" Alva called to Thalia as she was exiting the dining hall

'what a lying and backstabbing friend' Thalia thought in her mind seeing Alva leaving the hall after that gesture of Cussusex running his hand across Alva shoulder in the most appealing way

She was super jealous of Alva that Cussusex could willingly touch her the way he just did as he was leaving the dining hall and she was also having a high feeling of betrayal based on what happened 

Alva had no knowledge of this as she went out of the dining hall, her mind had forgotten the suspicion her friend had have for her a few hours ago

Now outside the dinning hall and now on her way to the lodging residence, Alva had her mind on what happened when Cussusex was leaving, his hands rubbing her in the most delicate way

That was uncanny for someone who would have been referred to as a snub ever since they were in the same mansion with him

In the hallways now which leads to the lodging area of residence, she looked at her side to another adjunct halls that leads to the other side of the royal building

And there he was,

Cussusex tall and handsome with a manly body of a well fed royal, holding a bottle of wine in his hand and two glass cups in the other

He was a bit far away from her in the adjunct hall, and it seemed he had been there for a while, behind one of the huge pillars as if waiting  or hiding, she could not really tell

But her body was already reacting to the sight of him right there standing some few feets away from her

"Care for a drink?" He asked, slightly raising up the bottle containing the wine in the most gentle like manner possible

'An invite that can not be refused' was what went through her head after all electrifying current carrying along with it some sense of pleasure went through her body

"Why not.." she responded with a smile, diverting from her first path to the residence lodge to follow the adjunct hall to go meet him

Cussusex smiled back as he waited for her to reach where he was before drawing her into his arms giving her a passionate kiss

"Been waiting for you for so long, didn't you understand my signal" he said to her in the slight moment they stopped kissing and then drew her back to lock lips with her in another round of kiss

Alva couldn't reply his statement as he had already drawn her again into his arm and continued his passionate kiss, 'thats so unfair..' her mind registered

"Am so sorry dear love" Alva said the moment their lips sperated again

"Let's go to somewhere more private, take a scroll with me" he said to hee as he held her hands and was already walking away from the hall form which Alva, Elvira's guest had come from

Alva could not stop smiling as he went on with her hand in his

He moved fast in order to get to where he was going to, and Alva could barely keep up with his pace down the adjunct hall from whence they had come from

Reaching his pre targeted place, I was a small room like space that was totally dark and hidden from the moon light

Cussusex quickly pushed Alva against the wall inside the dark space free from been seen by any onlookers

Alva could feel the tensity of his breath as he kissed her neck with vigour and in a rush, carefully pacing down every spot in a manner that seem a habit to him

Pressed against the wall, Alva had not the strength to resist nor even the will, as her mind was already captured by the intensity of his touch

He hands had started searching and going on its own journey of exploration through the body of his now captured prey

"Take it easy….haaaaah" she said when he gave her a little bit of space for breath from his constant kissing

"I want you fully Alva, without any restrictions, I want to know you in every way" he said with a low voice into her ears

The sound of his voice was not received normally but like the forces of supreme control giving it's orders

"Take me all…" She replied, not knowing when she had come up with what to say but was a reaction of her underlying craving

"I want all of you in me…ahhhhhh" She moaned as a penetration successfully made its way in

While at the mine...

Elvira had just ventured into an ancient test lab which was no longer functional but was still in a well kept manner 

"Wow, what is this place" Elvira was astounded as she could not immediately grasp the use of this small secret hall inside a secret hall

"Look at all this, how on earth …" She couldn't hold her excitement as this was all too much to take in

"Yeah, I was exactly the same way the first time i came here" he revealed to her as she was moving around the hall, looking deeply at all the strange equipments and facilities in the hall

The hall was one packed with a lot of items that makes it hard to tell how wide it really is as a person could not see past the next large and heavy equipment blocking his or her view

Elvira moved around looking and feeling with her palm each one she passed by with Durid following along with her in a trail

"What do you think about all these.." Durid asked Elvira as he could see that she was carried away by what her eyes had laid it's eyes upon

Taking a walk on the path of this hall was one of the most unexpected experience for Elvira or anyone who would ever step foot into this place of never before seen items and structures of wonders 

There were metal structures that looked like a seat all around the place with leather straps across each of them, the metallic sit was composed of so many parts and metals of different types all structured together into one uncommon item in the shape of a chair

The chair was one of a really complex built-up that Elvira could not tell what it was actually made of or why

"It's amazing…." She finally replied Durid who also had the eye of someone who was just here for the first time too

"How on earth did you find this place, it was so hidden, or was there a map in one of the books you read that led you directly to this hall of unnatural advancement" Elvira asked in total bewilderment

Durid smiled in warmth as he could totally understand her feelings right now, the memory of first getting to see this private library and this other inner secret hell was replayed in a flash on his head as she asked him this question

"It was all out of luck and a bit of my adventure spirit…, The library was a result of a day gone wrong, can't go into details about that for it was an unpleasant day" Elvira said as the thought of that faithful day played in her head and though it ended in the most unexpected and exciting way, the beginning and middle of the said day did not end in a pleasant way

"But finding this other hall was a also so unexpected that it shocked the hell out of me, was looking through the books to select a few that I would be reading for the mean time when I came across the cubicle that were in which is the entrance of the hall

Been there a couple of times and I had no idea that it was the entrance of this place, but on this faithful day some years back then when I came to get some books from the shelf, I was so tired that I decided of rest there and  regain my strength before going back to my daily activities" Durid said to Elvira in explanation of how he got in contact with this secret hall inside the secret library

"So do you have any idea what all these are for" Durid finally looked at Elvira, asking her the question that was on his mind since they came into the hall, as she have now had her eye fill of all the various things around

"What are all these kinds of things used for in your world out there, it may prove beneficial to us here in the mine if we can adopt whatever it's used for outside there in your world" Durid was asking 

They both didn't know what had transpired on the outside where they left their comrades, with the both of them being in total bewilderment of where they were now

" I have never seen such a thing like this up there on the surface" Elvira responded to him as she knew this was not what he was hoping for, must have been waiting so long for someone From the outside to come show him how he was going to make use of such a special equipment that he had found.

'Just had to burst his bubbles now to prevent being overly hyped about the possibilities she was bringing to the table'

  Having an odd look on his face, Durid could not believe his ears as what he heard was not what he was hoping for

He had heard a lot of the stories from up there, and have read so many tales of advancement and achievements that he could not believe what he had just heard

Yeah the equipment in the room they were in right now was something that seemed like a high powered scientific research, but this must have been put in place decades ago and sealed off before the new era that they entered

"Wow, just wow..." Durid could not hold his excitement any longer as what he was experiencing was one of great shock

"But all these come from up there, and it must have been a while ago when it was set-up down here, surely there would be something of the like in a more advanced form in your world out there?" He asked in a mix of disappointment and bewilderment of everything he had just heard

"Oh, I think this is one of those secret historical projects that was shut down and sealed off during the great defilement age, the nature and details of these secret advanced projects were nevered released as it was related to the security of the dynasty"

Elvira was saying as she remembered some time when her father was telling her about these, also a secret of the dynasty

"Sorry if this was not what you were expecting from a person from outside the mine, and even a royal who should have more knowledge of these kinds of things

" I understand, but what do you think all these are used for, surely they are not just here for display" Durid said

Looking at the equipment by her side in more details as she moves round it to check it with more scrutiny than she had done before

The chair was one that looked like the hospital type where people are made to stay in during tasks like an operation or surgery but it was different in many ways

"This looked more like an equipment used for human experiments..." She revealed in shock to her self also as she had the uncanny revelation that the dynasty must have been using the Savagers for secret experiments right under their noses

Things get….

The revelation that the dynasty must have been using the Savagers for human experiments was a lot appalling to Elvira as she was totally disgusted by the idea even if it was decades ago before she was even give birth to in this world of injustice

Still taking appraisal of the equipment that was sitting there without operation for so many years, it wasn't looking depreciated nor was it looking overly new, it's was just on a standstill with time and without the constant interference with humans and natural element

"Look here…" Elvira called out to Durid as she was spout down behind one of the equipment observing it's features closely

Durid came to where she was to look at what she was calling his attention to

"Oh that looks like a tube, have read a bit about it before, it is used for carrying fluids from one place to another" Durid said on seeing what Elvira was pointing to 

"Yeah… Now look over at this other side " Elvira said as she went round to the other side of the strange metal chair, the front side

"Do you see that…" Elvira asked Durid, pointing at a sharp and small postruding object that had a small hole at its tip, it was adjustable in the chair but was attached to it in a a permanent way

"Yeah I do see it, it must be connected to the tube at the back…" Durid made the connection that Elvira was expecting him to do

"And there's another one" during suddenly said as he's head was raised up now to see the top side of the chair

"Oh Damn…" Elvira said unconsciously as she could read in her brain what this means

The lower tube and it's connected sharp edged injection was to send or collect substance from the lower body of the host as that was around the area where the injector was located

But this other one which Durid had just discovered was at the top of the chair which is the side where the head of the host was supposed to be laid in, thereof the experiment must have dealt with the brain side of the host and it's collective parts, making it a lot riskier and dangerous

"This means they were also engaging in brain experiments" Elvira said to Durid, who was till trying to get why she was so spooked 

"And is that a bad thing?" Durid asked her as he had no idea of its implications that Elvira was trying to relay to him

"Yeah, a huge one, it was most definitely an experiment to try controlling the Savagers living in the mines, or even also engaging in early experimental research on mutation using live humans, that's very bad and must have most definitely ended up in failure leaving the tropes of failed experimental subjects in whatever form they made them be"

"Controlling us?…" Durid asked, as it was the line he could understand and understand the implications of what she was saying

"How is that going to be possible.." Durid was yet in another confusion, "they can't control us no matter what they do" he blunted out

"Thankfully they couldn't then that was why the program was then shutdown and the site sealed off, which is this very place we stand on

"Good for them, trying to challenge our creator in controlling a human" Durid said in a bit of annoyance

"Yeah" Elvira just said, not knowing what to reply him anymore

Having seen all that could be seen in such a short period of time, Elvira was now having a feeling to go back to the others who were in the library outside of the secret experimental hall

"Ok, they must be wondering where we had gone off to out there, we better go out and meet them now" Elvira said as she had gotten her shared of sightseeing of ancient advanced experimental research equipments in one day, was now time to move on

"Don't even know where the door is to exit the place anymore" Elvira said and they both broke into laughter 

"Here it is…" Durid came over to the side and clutched on a hidden lever, dragging it up to make the self wall split open like it did before when they were coming into the experimental hall

"Funny fact, I was also trapped in here for a few hours before I could open it on my first day" Durid said as he laughed stepping outside the secret hall of the secret ancient library

"Am lucky you were with me then" Elvira smiled "…if  not I would have been locked here till enternity" and they both laughed out loudly exiting the cubicle and out to a section of the library hall

Having no idea what had transpired here in the Libra hall when they were away, they came out of the secret experimental hall without anyone seeing them and headed to where they had left the rest of the team and the injured man on the medical table

The long walk to the side from whence Elvira and her team had come in from was fully obtrusted by the long shelf, making them not to see so far to the open hall where the rest of the team was supposed to be in

Coming our of the long shelf walk, Elvira was quickly able to capture what was before her as she jerked back immediately, into the safety of the covering of the shelves

But unbeknownst to her, Durid had not noticed the presence of danger in the air and immediately he stepped out and before Elvira could pull him back, a dart was already in his neck 

The dart that was meant for Elvira which she unknowingly dodged by making the backward movement, leaving Durid as the sole person on the way, thereby effectively striking his neck in a pierce

"Oh s**t" Elvira was shocked as she never expected this to happen, seeing Durid fall to the ground in a this

Seeing the dart on his neck, she could tell the position of the assailant, where he was attacking from

'Hope that's not a poisonous dart...' she thought in her mind as she stood still against the shelf, know fully well that she was secured there unless the assailant approach her 

"Who are you, show yourself!" She said loudly

But no response was given and this annoyed her a lot

Seeing Durid on the floor who she had just being with these last few minutes was a lot destabilising

"Show yourself you coward" she shouted again, not knowing the identity of the assailant, nor even the number of them that maybe be there 

'who else knows about this place, I thought they said this was a secret place that only them knew about...' her mind was running through the different thoughts and next phase of action that she was to carry out

Getting an idea in her mind, she looked past the shelf to see if all of the people she had came with was already taken a hit by the assailant dart

Burj looking or rather peeping in the most careful way, she could see that the injured man was no longer in the table where she was when she had left the hall

'way it the injured man that was the assailant?...' she thought in suprise
