-Aryia's POV-
My head feels like it's splitting. I reach up to touch my head when I recall what I last remember. I gasp loudly and stand up.
The bed? How did I-?
"Morning sunshine." I hear in a gruff voice.
I look over to see Trent sitting nearby, eyeing me carefully.
"I'm- I'm sorry, sir. I didn't mean to inconvience yo-" I stammer
"Stop. It wasn't an inconvenience." He raises an eyebrow.
" Do you remember what we were talking about?"
I nod solemnly, trying to hide a grimace.
Yeah, you were telling me my parents lied to me about my entire life...Who they were... I pout, thinking.
I hear a chuckle from Trent's direction.
I look up, he's straight-faced.
Didn't I hear a laugh? I scrunch my nose thinking.
"Care to take a seat? He says to me
"Oh, um, thank you..." I say sitting.
"We've landed a bit ago, but I need to finish our conversation before we go to my pac-" He coughs, "My house."
I cross my legs, preparing myself for any more bad information. I nod
"Okay, I think I can handle it." I say, determined.
He raises an eyebrow, "Where did I leave off..." He says to himself quietly.
"My parents... They're.." Tears are forming in my eyes, "You said that they're.. wolves." I take a deep breath.
Trent sighs and hands me a tissue, "I wish I could help you understand that we aren't bad people."
"We?" I say, startled.
Trent rubs his forehead, "Yes... We. I am also a werewolf. Rachelle and Rowan were a part of my pack. I am, as you've heard, the alpha of Misty Moon Pack."
I slowly scoot back in my seat,
Can he turn into that monsterous beast too? A giant wolf? I think, eyes wide, watching his movements closely.
"Aryia, I'm not a bad person! I'm still the same me." He states angrily.
I know that, I do. But what if he decides one day to hurt me? What if he finds me annoying and does to me... like what happened to mom....
"If my parents are wolves...am I too?" I ask cautiously.
I see him think over his answer.
"You are." He states, deciding to be blunt.
I can feel my heart pick up pace "H-how? I've never- never-"
Trent wraps his arms around me. I never noticed how big he really was compared to me until right now.
"Aryia, Rachelle and Rowan had planned to explain everything before your eighteenth birthday. They wanted you to know, but there's a lot at stake right now" He growls the last bit, annoyed.
"A lot at stake? Like what? What do they have to worry about so much that they would lie to me about MY ENTIRE LIFE?!" I scream into his chest, tears betraying me and spilling on his shirt.
He said nothing, holding me gently while I cried, hitting his chest with my fist again and again. I calm myself, and pull away and see his shirt is wet, stained with old mascara smeared all over.
"I'm sorry... It's just.. so much..." I choke out.
Another man on the plane hands me a water bottle,
"Thank you..." I wisper.
He shrugs and smiles, walking back to his spot. I watch him the entire way. Trent clears his throat, I look back at him and he's sitting, motioning for me to sit next to him.
I take a seat and a deep breath, "Okay.. so I'm a wolf.. they didn't tell me... why?"
"Aryia, I promise I will explain, but that will take a long time and I'm long overdue getting back to the pack..." He sighs.
I nod, I'm sure he's a busy man, my troubles aren't his troubles anyway... I think fiddling with my fingers.
"It's not what you're thinking, Aryia. I will help you. Rachelle and Rowan were my pack, my family. That makes you family." He says bluntly.
I look up, smiling gently. I knew mom wouldn't trust him if he was a bad man...
"I need you to know some things about us wolves before we go to the pack." He says, worry lingering in his voice.
I nod, smiling, it can't be bad. Good men lead good people.. right?
"A pack doesn't live spread out like Rowan and Rachelle did. We live on pack grounds, ran by an Alpha, in this case myself, a beta. His name is Zander, and you'll meet him shortly. Under the beta is a gamma, HER name is Rosie." He says, raising an eyebrow at me.
My eyes shoot open wide. Her? So there's a girl..
He chuckles, not bothering to hide it. "The people that follow me are good people, strong, loyal." He nods, confirming it instantly.
"So what is there to be worried about...?" I say gently.
"Well, as I said, wolves live in their pack grounds.. which means when we get into pack grounds it won't just be us living there. The main house houses the leaders and their family, important guests, omega wolves, and warriors."
"Warriors? You said you were all peaceful!" I exclaim.
"Firstly, I said we weren't BAD people. We prefer to be peaceful, but sadly people like Drake exist, so we have no choice but to be prepared to defend ourselves." He sighs, leaning back.
I nod slowly, I have no other choice. I have to be strong.
"Now, Zander has his mate, Lilly, Rosie's sister. She's very energetic, so be prepared-" Trent begins.
"Mate?" I ask quizzically.
Trent shakes his head, "They really didn't tell you anything."
I furrow my brows at him, annoyed. You should be happy I'm believing half of the s**t you're saying.
"Calm down, tiger," Trent laughs. "I'll explain." He smiles lightly. "The moon goddess has blessed her children with destined mates, someone who completes you. Your perfect match to navigate life. Once you turn 18, you'll have your own wolf. She will speak to you, and you to her. You will never be apart until death. She also helps you recognize your mate. Smell, touch.. you'll feel sparks. They'll smell like your favorite smell. You'll feel their pain and their joy, as if you're one person. Every wolf hopes they'll be lucky enough to find their mate."
I smile, it's such a romantic notion. I recall my mother telling me about mates while telling me a story as a child, but it's been so long since we'd talked about it.
Does that mean dad was mom's? I think my heart swelling, knowing they found each other.
"Can I meet your mate?" I ask excitedly.
Everyone in the room stiffens. Guards in their seats turning to look.
Oh no what did I do...
"I didn't.. I wasn't trying to-" I stammer.
"I haven't found her," He says quietly.
Fuck. Good f*****g going, Aryia! I clench my hands, cursing myself.
"I don't need a Luna, Aryia. You've done nothing wrong." He smiles, lightly, the smile not reaching his eyes. I can feel his pain, it's dull but it's there.
"I'm sorry, sir..." I mumble.
"Trent. I don't like that "sir" bit you've been doing." He replies.
I smile, "Okay.. Trent."
"Well, Aryia, I feel like you've learned the basics. It's time to meet the family. It's about 20 minutes until we get to the pack boarder." He smiles and stands up.
I stand up and allow him to lead me out of the plane to a Range Rover parked on the side. He helps me into the passenger side, laughing at my stature as I struggle, not neglecting to tell me most she-wolves are closer to six foot.
I pout, "Well I'm not most she-wolves then!" I exclaim sticking my tongue out.
"You got that right Aryia." He, laughs loudly, reaching over to buckle me.
