-Aryia's POV-
We don't drive for long before we get to a huge guarded gate. A man steps out,
"Alpha." He says, nodding, eyeing me slightly.
"Let us in" Trent says, annoyed at the man's curiosity.
He nods, and opens the gate. There's a small squeal as it starts pulling apart from the gate. According to Trent, we still have a short drive before we get to the "pack house" as he called it. This place is huge! I spy a few homes littered around, children playing with families in the yards. I can feel an ache in my chest, as I remember mom and dad. I need to stay strong. I have one month before I turn eighteen. That means I have one month before I get my wolf.
"Are there any indicators on what your wolf will be like?" I question Trent.
"Well, No. I can say, typically your wolf is somewhat the opposite of you. They're meant to complete you, be what you're lacking." He shrugs.
Lacking... That's a big order, Hah! Sorry girl.
I chuckle to myself and I notice Trent side-eye me. I stick my tongue out at him in response. I look forward and that's when I see it.
"A f*****g castle" I exclaim loudly, then cover my mouth.
Trent loses it, he's laughing so hard tears are forming in his eyes.
"Not quite a castle! Maybe a small mansion. I'll give you that." He's cackling at this point.
I'm blushing so bad I'm sure I look like a literal tomato. I smack his arm, shushing him.
"Listen, I've never seen anything so big!" I say exasperatingly.
"It houses a LOT of wolves, Aryia." He says, reeling in his laughter.
As we pull up to the front, there are a few wolves waiting for us. Trent helps me out of the Rover, which elicits a few stares. I blush. Someone waiting off to the left jogs up to Trent, as he hands him the keys and he drives away.
"They'll park the car" He whispers, following my eyes.
"HEELLLOO? Are you going to introduce us!" A very tall, petite woman asks, stomping her foot slightly.
Trent shoots her a death glare, which she waves off and comes up to me, hand in front of her.
"Rosie! Rosie Vela! And you?" She grins.
She is beautiful. Super model quality, honestly. She had short Raven black hair, in a neat pixie cut. Pale skin, that really compliments her dark features and chocolate brown eyes. She had to be at least five foot eleven, appearing even taller with her four-inch heels she was sporting.
I take her hand to shake "Aryia Dawn, ma'am." I say quietly.
She pulls me in for a hug, crushing me. "First of all, EW! I'm only twenty-three, call me Rosie. Secondly, welcome home Aryia."
"God damn Rosie you're going to kill the poor girl!" a man walks up prying her away from me, to my relief and her disappointment.
"Zander Blake, Miss Aryia. I took the liberty of helping get your room set up. I hope you like it!" He smiles sweetly, hand out.
He was a good looking man too. Are werewolves this hot?
He's about six foot one, a dark tan showing how often he's in the sun. Dark brown hair, long but neatly put in a man-bun on top of his head. Blue eyes that sparkle when he talks, a strong squared jaw, and wow, he was fit.
I take his hand and shake it gently, smiling, but quickly look down, trying to cover up the blush creeping on my cheeks.
I hope they can't tell how nervous I am. I gulp.
"If you don't mind, how did you guys know we were coming?" I ask quizzically.
Both Zander and Rosie look at each other, then Trent.
"Mind link, silly!" Rosie says laughing.
My face is beet red.
"Um... what-what is that?" I ask wringing my hands.
Trent is shooting daggers at Rosie at this point, who puts up her hands in her defence, as if to say 'I thought it was common knowledge'.
"It is something that all wolves can use once you get of age and you meet your wolf. It allows me to speak with the whole pack without speaking. You'll be able to use it too, soon enough. Rosie ASSUMES you'd know because you're a wolf, most pups learn it early." Trent says.
"I didn't know, I'm sorry..." I mumble.
"Girl! It's fine you wont understand everything in a day!" Rosie chimes back in trying to comfort me
"How about we go inside and I show you your room, hm?" Zander says.
I nod and we start to ascend the steps to the front door.
Once inside my jaw drops, there are corridors everywhere! Sculptures, paintings, decorations and rugs littering everywhere. A giant staircase, and even an elevator?!
I look wide-eyed at Trent, I can see everyone, him included, stifling a laugh, but I don't care.
"This is wild." I blurt out.
They can't contain it and all three laugh at me. I shrug and continue up the main corridor.
"Here's the kitchen, cooks will make your food though, so that doesn't matter much. Here's the dining hall-"
I peek in and see tons of people eating and talking happily.
That's at least fifty people in one room I think, shocked.
"Your room is on the third floor, that's the guest rooms. Above that, The fourth floor is Rosie's floor, Mine is the fifth, and our lovely alpha's floor is the sixth." Zander explains as we reach the elevator.
"That is absurd, what do you even do with so much house?!" I blurt out.
Embarassed, I blush. I stand by my statement though, that's absurd!
"We put people in it. Family, friends, and their family." Trent says, laughing.
I'm glad he's amused by my reactions, I pout.
We get to my room and when I open the door I'm blown away. It's all in baby pink and gold. There's a canopy bed, draped with white lace. It looks like royalty lives here. I stare, mouth agape.
"You have your own bathroom over here" Zander muses, smiling at my reaction.
Inside the bathroom is magnificent. Holy f*****g hell, I think, as I take it all in.
There is white marble covering the countertops, white appliances with gold accents. I walk inside, running my hands along all the surfaces. There's a shower that has three shower heads, a giant rain head on the ceiling, and two smaller heads on either wall. A jet tub sits in the corner, literally begging for me to join it tonight.
I could definitely use a bath after the day I've had. I scoff lightly.
Trent coughs and I turn around, embarrassed. "I'm sorry I've just never seen anything like this." I blush.
"Well, It's late, how about we give Aryia some time to sleep? " Zander says, gaining nods from the other two.
"Goodnight honey!" Rosie says, walking away.
"Sleep, we'll talk tomorrow." Trent replies, turning around to leave, pulling Zander behind him, grumbling something about needing to talk.
With that, I'm left alone. I go to the bath and start it. There's a robe and some bath essentials. I'll have to thank Zander, he really outdid himself. I think as I slowly slide into the tub. As I relax, the reality of today hits me hard. I'm all by myself. Mom...Dad... They're really gone.. I think sinking lower into the bath.
All the thoughts and questions of what I've learned today spiral in my head. I close my eyes and just allow the feelings to consume me, crying quietly to myself, using a towel to muffle my sobs. I can't be weak, I need to find Drake and find why he did this. Why my family? Why me?
I find myself starting to drift asleep, so I drain the tub and put a towel on. Ignoring the robe, I shuffle to the bed, sniffling. I crawl into bed, still wet and sleep takes over my body.
Meanwhile, elsewhere in the packhouse, a very angry Trent is explaining Aryia's situation to a tearful Rosie and a visibly upset Zander.
