Ranger bit down on his lip like I’d said something funny. “It’s a sad excuse for a prize, but I’ll take it.”
“I didn’t say yes.” I held to the destroyed rose. “You can’t just take whatever you want.”
His expression darkened as his wolf flashed in his eyes. “I promise I will take everything one day and you will offer it to me.”
“Everything?” The word came out a whisper as my lips parted and my breathing slowed.
His fangs extended and he stepped closer, blocking out the sun. “Everything and more.”
