22: A secret in the pantry
"Wake up! Your phone is so loud!" Ruby nudged Marlene with her eblow, forcing her to wake up. She immediately closed her eyes when the light that was pouring into room blinded her.
Then she heard it, the sound thar Ruby was talking about. It was her message notification wound and it was going off like crazy.
Marlene reached for the phone and checked the time before anything else.
It was 10:05 am and she could not believe how much she has slept. She had crawled into bed after binging six episodes of a new series.
It was Saturday and she deserved her rest so why was she being woken up so early?
Her eyes darted to the incoming text and she saw Michael's number.
"You have ten seconds." was all she saw before the photo from last night flashed in her mind
