26: Goodbye note
It was quite late compared to the time Marlene normally slept at, but she was finally listening to what he said and not seeing it as a bad thing.
She was on leave, even if it was going to be for less than a week, she might as well enjoy it. After Michael devoured her less than pleasing to the eye, unpalatable meal like it tasted heavenly, he left her to be by herself. Not in the name of his anger, but to attend to an urgent matter.
Marlene wanted to enjoy her night and just be a couch potato, watch TV like she has no responsibilities and sleep late.
But then, it happened. She dozed off on the couch with a smile on her face from laughing at her favourite TV show host, only to wake up to a dreaded sound.
