Chapter Seventy Two: Last Chance to be sweet
As soon as Marlene's eyes fluttered open, she immediately turned to her side and checked the date on her phone. She already knew what the day was going to be anyway, but she just felt like she needed to convince herself when she did confirm it, what she already knew from the very beginning. And so that indeed was Friday, she already knew what that meant.
It was the day that she would be leaving for the island. She still had no idea what that meant or where it meant they were going, but she did not want to inquire anything else about it. She just wanted to keep it that way, keep herself in the dark for as long as she possibly could be in the dark for, which, judging by the fact that it was already Friday morning, would not be for long at all.
