A smirk played at the corner of the lady’s lips as she stared at Crystal, she had always been aware of the difficulties omega goes through since she was one.
But she had never seen a cursed Wolf being this girl’s age and still breathing.
Only the first line of the sixth tribe had been seen to survive for a long time before he turned.
He became a beast and was very powerful, even than the first tribe's Alpha; he destroyed lives and anything that stood in his way.
It took all the other six tribes to defeat him, that was when the law was made that every child who hasn't been triggered after the age of ten should be killed.
“How have you survived all this while?” She asked and Crystal stared at her.
“Who are you ?” She asked but the lady smiled and turned to walk away.
“You said the oak tree could kill any wolf, why didn't you get attacked?” It was Crystal's turn to ask questions.
“The tree’s reason for drilling energy till the person dies is because it feels threatened, it doesn't want people to hurt its roots and branches,” she said, still with her back facing Crystal.
“In other words, it is scared of predators, strong predators, and you and I are not.”
“You also haven't been triggered–”
“I am an omega,” she cut Crystal short.
“Oh,”
The lady turned to her with her brows raised.
The ‘Oh’ sounded offensive to her.
Reading her expression Crystal quickly added.
“You are no different from me,”
“I am a lot different; I am still a wolf and can be determined strong if I want. Secondly, I can walk freely in all the tribes with no fear of being killed, unlike you; your head will be gone immediately if anyone notices you are cursed.”
Fear gripped Crystal as she looked around.
Only her tribe men know about her disability now a stranger is also aware.
“Don't worry, I won't snitch,” the lady assured. “What is your name anyway?”
“Crystal,” Crystal answered, looking at the lady, her eyes now natural green.
Why did it change?
Crystal stared in shock and admiration.
“Well, I am Lilith,” she introduced, and the name rang a big bell on Crystal's head.
But of course, she is Lilith, the Seer who ran away from her clan to live in the forest.
“You are the Seer?” Crystal asked.
“No, I am not,” she replied and turned; she began to walk away.
“Do not lie, it is easy to tell,” Crystal drawled but noticed the lady was already walking far away.
“Wait!” She called and got up with difficulties.
“We need to talk!” Crystal said loudly trailing behind her.
“There is nothing to talk about?” she responded to her without looking back.
“Well there is to me, I need your help!” Crystal said, fastening her pace to meet up.
“Why did you think I left the surface of your existence to come and live with the trees?” She asked, still walking away.
“I don't know,” Crystal answered honestly.
“Well, that is because I do not want to help anyone anymore!” She shouted and jumped on a big rock.
Crystal came closer to the rock and looked up at her.
“But you have to help me,” she tried to persuade.
Lilith squats on the rock, looking down at her.
“Why?”
“Well because my situation is serious,” Crystal answered.
“What makes you think the people I ran away from don't have serious situations?” She asked, sitting on the rock.
“Because I am the first of my kind,” Crystal said remembering the Oracle's words.
“What?” Lilith asked, confused.
“You have to help me?” Crystal said, looking up at her with many emotions visible in her eyes.
Lilith saw it, and for the first time in forever, she wanted to listen to someone’s words.
The image of the Goddess's seed flashes back into her head.
She always sees things when she shares a physical touch with someone.
But this is the first time she has seen something that intrigues her.
“Let us make a deal,” she offered and Crystal's eyes lit with excitement.
“You have to climb up this rock, and if you do, I will listen to you and help you,” she stated, and the joy in Crystal died off.
“If not, you are on your own,” she added.
Crystal looked at the rock; she could feel the height laughing at her.
“I can't,” she said with her head down.
“Why?” Lilith asked.
“I am not a wolf, I don't have any special abilities, I am useless.”
“More facts about how we are different,” Lilith said with a smile.
She looked down at Crystal; she could see how hard it had been for her; without even having the ability to see through, one can take a wild guess on how the universe had been unfair to her.
“Being smart is not a special ability is it?” She asked and the girl looked up at her.
“No, it's not,” Crystal answered and began to look around.
Her eyes fixed on a Vine on a tree opposite the rock. She rushed to it and grabbed onto it.
Lilith rested comfortably on the rock watching the young girl.
Crystal held the vine and ran backward with it; when she felt the need to stop, she swung herself forward and flew with the help of the vine.
“I am coming closer!” She shouted in joy.
Lilith stared at her in awe, just then the image of Crystal falling flashed into her head and disappeared immediately.
“Be careful so you won't —” the vine ripped off leaving Crystal in mid-air.
“Ahhhh!” She screamed and hit the ground with a loud thud.
“Aragh!” She groaned loudly.
“Are you okay?” Lilith asked, getting up.
Crystal got up and gave the rock a dangerous stare.
The rock was an obstacle and according to her father's words, all obstacles must be destroyed.
But she doesn't want to destroy this obstacle, she wants to be on it.
“Just give up already!” Lilith said with concern.
Ignoring her Crystal walked to the tree, took a deep breath, and began to climb it.
“What are you doing?” Lilith asked, staring at her with confusion.
“Being smart,” Crystal groaned.
“You do realize you will hit the ground… again?”
“Not again,” Crystal said bravely, she got to the top of the tree.
“Now what, are you going to fly?” Lilith teased.
“I sure might,” Crystal answered, standing on the tree.
“Now, enough with this you will break all your teeth before you even get to grow fangs,” Lilith threatened.
But that couldn't stop Crystal, she stood on the tree looking down at the rock.
“You will fall,”
“You might have been lucky to predict it before. You won't be now,” Crystal said and launched herself off the tree, spreading out her hands to help her navigate through.
Lilith stared at her in shock as she fell on the rock.
She could see a strong lady in the child.
Crystal pants and staggered up, she was bleeding from her head.
“I did it,” she let out, “now you will have to help me.”
“Come with me,” Lilith said and walked to a smaller rock that stayed on the big one.
Crystal stared at the Woman in confusion, and a sharp pain struck her.
“Ahh!” She groaned and touched her head. She saw blood stained on her hand.
She heard a snarl, she looked ahead, and her eyes widened; she saw the Seer frowning at her.
But what caught her eyes was the fact that a passage had appeared on the rock.
“Are you coming or not?” Lilith asked
“Will you help me?” Crystal asked.
“Isn't it a positive answer you passed my test,” Lilith said and walked into the passage.
“Wait for me!” Crystal ran after her.
