Killian’s POV BEFORE. I had just decided to go to sleep, but the thunder rumbles shook the room, sending shivers down my spine. I'd always been terrified of its loud rumbles, ever since I was a kid. "Not now," I mumbled in frustration as I tossed the duvet away, grabbed a shirt, and headed to the library. Maybe a little reading would distract me until the storm died down. As I walked, my legs shook at every rumble and every roar. I pushed the door open, while I tried to focus on the library's quiet atmosphere. I quickly scanned through the shelves. Anything very distracting would do at this point, but before I could find something, I heard footsteps - slow and hesitant, nothing like the guards' own. My heart raced.
