A week later, Kat’s wounds had finally healed. She and Gee had made a habit of walking about The Palace early each morning before reporting to The Queen. They just finished their breakfast of croissants and strawberry jam and were getting ready to leave. Today was All Hallows’ Eve, and The Queen was especially excited.
