Amara stood in the center, unsure whether to feel relieved or defeated. “This is home now,” she murmured. --- The first week was the hardest. Every door she knocked on closed. Every opportunity slipped away. “Sorry, we’re not hiring.” “We need experience.” “You don’t qualify.” --- Each rejection chipped away at her confidence. But she kept going. Amara nodded cautiously. “You look like someone who needs work.” --- The words hit harder than expected. “I do.” The woman studied her briefly before nodding. “I run a tailoring shop. Come tomorrow.” --- Hope didn’t return loudly. It came quietly. Like a small light in a dark room. But it was enough. For now.
