I held Rachel’s hand as she screamed in pain. She threw her head back and screamed and cried. Her face was red and sweaty, her hair stuck to her face and she gripped my hand tight.
The doctor arrived and began to work immediately. The baby was early and we were all caught by surprise. As I held onto Rachel’s hand I tried soothing her and calming her. I knew she was in so much pain-I could only imagine how much she was hurting. After a couple minutes of checking Rachel, the doctor got up and waved me over to the side of the room. Rachel looked at me with wide eyes and Mrs. Abarca took my place next to her.
