Chapter 10The fates had snatched his son. Julos was gone, missing, stolen. All of Kreusa left in this world and he wasn’t anywhere. Lost. Nothing but an empty sleeping pallet in their cabin. Teeth gnashed and breaths came in a hiss. Aeneas threw back the covers and snarled, every sense aflame. The ravening seas, they took everything from him. Should have known it, should have seen it coming. Poseidon’s tributes were heavy. An angry god like all the rest, nothing but spite and rage and hate. Enough was never enough for his kind and Aeneas was too stupid to see it. Visions of tomorrow, that’s all Mother fed him in the nights. But she’d not warned him of this, oh no. Aphrodite’s dreams were of cities and empires, nothing that mattered. She didn’t care if Aeneas woke to find rumpled blankets
