Bob's face lit up when he glanced at his screen and saw the caller ID -- it was Jackie!
“Hi, Jackie! I've been trying to call you…"
He waited for a response.
“Hello… Hello? Jackie, can you hear me?"
Bob pulled his phone from his ear and checked the screen. The call was active and the volume wasn't on mute. He was about to end the call and call her back.
“Hello, Bob…" She sounded listless. His first impression was that she had just gotten up from a nap.
“Hey, Jackie… are you alright? You don't sound well, Jackie. Is everything okay?"
“Yes…"
“Mm, did you by any chance… get my messages?"
There was a deafening silence.
“Jackie, if there's a problem, let me know. I'm sure we can resolve it. Any issues with the project?" Bob pressed the phone to his ear. He was feeling a little anxious
