The door slammed behind her. Rayne stalked down the corridor like a force of nature, each step echoing her fury through the stone hallways of Valen’s keep. The guards she passed stiffened and quickly bowed their heads, sensing her energy—thick, dark, volatile. No one dared speak. No one dared move. She didn’t stop until she reached the war hall. Two guards stood at the door. “Open it,” she barked. They hesitated.
