Chapter 37-1

2036 Words

37 At the predetermined time, Aiden and Marcus stepped off the hired transpo to find Derek and Rosalind already at the gates that surrounded the palace. Both moons that orbited Windmere were visible in the sky, and with the approach of darkness they stood out against the black of space. A breeze blew, which ruffled Aiden’s hair as he watched the roadway for the arrival of Kiersten and Sid. He guessed their negotiations lasted only a short time, so they probably toured the city. Rosalind was still dressed in her flight suit, and though it had been at least a day, she looked as if she had just stepped from the lavatory. Derek, wearing new clothes that fit him, seemed to be grateful for being out of doors, as he spent time looking at the moons and stars, turning his face towards the breeze.
