April made her way downstairs, her heels clicking softly against the polished floor. The house was quiet, save for the faint hum of the housekeepers bustling in the kitchen. As she approached the front door, her phone buzzed with a message from Gina. “I’m Outside. Where the hell are you?” April chuckled, knowing Gina must be pissed off already. Having Gina by her side felt like a blessing, and it gave her the push she needed to step out into this new phase. April opened the door to find Gina waving enthusiastically from the driver’s seat of her small hatchback. “Good morning, future CEO!” Gina teased as April slid into the passenger seat. “Oh stop it! Good morning,” April replied, her smile genuine. “And, hey, maybe you’ll be the CEO. You never know.” “Please,” Gina said, laughing.
