Chapter 2

1624 Words
Cressida POV Mr. Bryant Wilson. Shoulder length locs pulled back into 2 neat barrel twists, smooth milk chocolate skin, almond shaped hazel eyes, a perfectly full beard, beautiful smile and I was ready to climb all 6 feet plus of him like a tree the second I laid eyes on him. During the meeting I could feel his eyes on my ass as I moved around the display boards going over the development plans for the new hotel. It was so hard to resist throwing a little extra twist in my walk. "Well gentlemen, I've gone over everything as previously discussed with you Mr. Bostic. The contracts have been signed so are there any questions or comments in regards to the design?" They both shook their heads and we adjourned from the conference room.  Chas made it a point to flash me a perverted smile before speaking. I seriously want to barf at this point. "When are you going to stop playing hard to get with me Cressida?". I scoff at him, "me playing hard to get would imply that you have a chance in hell". He laughs my remark off and walks out saying his goodbyes as I turn to see that Bryant has yet to peel his eyes away from me.  "Can I help you with anything Mr. Wilson," I ask while mentally undressing him and throwing him on my conference table.  He licked his full lips before he spoke and could have shattered right then. "I was honestly hoping you wouldn't think me too forward if I asked to take you out tomorrow evening. Just dinner and conversation at least, that way we can get to know each other a little better." I watched as his eyes roamed over my body and settled at my already heated center momentarily and licked those luscious lips again before meeting my eyes with a smile. If i wasn't so turned on by his mere presence right now I would have confronted him about eye-f*****g me just now. "I wouldn't mind that at all. Leave the details with Yasmin and she'll be sure I get the info." After Bryant and Chas left I had Yasmin forward my calls for the next 2 hours and went for lunch with my best friend Sunni.  When I arrived at the cafe, Sunni was sitting at an outside shaded table with my strawberry lemonade ready and waiting. She's been my best friend since we met in middle school. She was thick for a Korean, thanks in part to her surgically enhanced ass that she took every opportunity to show off when she wasn't handling business at her salon. She was gorgeous as well. She kept her make up to a minimum with a little foundation, gloss, liner and lashes. She sported some new neon green highlights and bouncy waves in her black waist length hair, and neon green crop top and some super tight high waisted black leggings with clear sandals. But don't let her appearance fool you. She was all "business with a body" about 80% of the time.  We caught up on our separate days and when i finished telling her about my exchange with Bryant she couldn't help but smile a mile wide. "Girl its about time somebody woke you up," she laughed taking a bite of her food. "I was thinking I was going to have to find a new bestie". I lean back imitating offense at her remark, "how dare you!" I say, laughing with my friend. "If I didn't have common sense I would have thrown him on the conference table and rode him into oblivion. Soon as I saw him I felt my body heat up like nothing I've ever felt! And I could tell the feeling was mutual because he kept shifting in his seat", I said with a smirk.  "Well damn girl, I might have to meet this one for my damn self. But what about Mathias?", she asked. Mathias was my "friend with benefits", even though he wasn't all that beneficial. I could barely orgasm with him anymore. He was this super sexy ad exec I'd met through one of my past clients. We went on a few dates but both concluded we weren't a relationship match-he was too much of a flirt and I wasn't really interested in stroking his ego. However with both of us having super busy schedules we gave the sneaky link route a shot. At first it was mind blowing! But after almost a year of just hooking up and lacking a connection, it turned into literally just s*x. My phone vibrates on the tale and I look at the message. Are we still on for tonight-M "Speak of the devil", I say showing the text to Sunni. "After seeing Bryant this morning I'm not even sure I want to see him at all anymore". I have other plans tonight, sorry. After sending the text I put my phone away and wrapped up lunch with Sunni so I could get back to the office. Upon walking into the reception area Yasmin handed me the note with Bryant's info on it. I shot him a text to confirm for tomorrow with a smile on my face.  ***** Bryant POV Looking forward to tomorrow night-Cressida The text came through and momentarily distracted me from the yelling in my ear. "Why do you insist on treating me like I never mattered to you Bryant?! A whole five years, you divorce me, then you go and get a f*****g restraining order against me? What the hell Bryant!" I could feel a migraine coming on and it took everything in me not to lose my temper as I was still in my uncle's office. "Okay first off you need to calm the hell down with all this unnecessary yelling you're doing in my ear if you want me to listen to whatever the hell it is you feel compelled to call me for," I spat through gritted teeth. "Second, I left you because you were too busy getting drunk and dicked down by God knows how many other men to remember you had a husband at home. And that lovely piece of paper you're ignoring by calling me? That's because in some twisted way you think its ok to camp out in front of my f*****g house and force yourself on me in the mornings as I'm trying to leave," I hissed. It had been a year since my divorce from Theresa was finalized. In the court it was uncontested. We didn't have any children and she refused alimony. But she's been giving me hell ever since. I even moved 2 towns over because she started acting worse than a stalker. The restraining order was my latest attempt to make it clear that we are over. She gets blocked, she gets a new number. I get a new number, she somehow tracks it down. My sisters kicked her ass and that just kept her away while they were in town visiting. I moved and she literally sat outside my job to follow me home. I called the police, she posted bail and was back on the same s**t. Of course she's managed to acquire a record now but she obviously doesn't care." I shouldn't have done that to you Bryant. I've been trying to apologize but you never want to listen to me", Theresa said, trying to sound sexy but really just irritating me even more. "You want me to believe you're sorry? Stay the hell away from me", I say before hanging up on her. "Ugh what the hell happened to her Jace?", I asked my cousin who had been sitting across from me at his father's desk silently laughing at the exchange with my ex. "I don't know man, but she's going down bad and fast".  Theresa used to make other men jealous just seeing her on my arm. She was 5'4", freckled butter pecan brown skin and honey colored doe eyes. Her body was beyond perfect and she wore her hair in a blonde pixie cut that fit her face perfectly. She was smart and funny and really laid back. But when I found out that her 'girls night out' was more than just her and her line sisters going out and having a good time, I didn't know what to do. She acted like it wasn't a big deal and I was beyond devastated. Then when I filed for divorce she became cold and distant. It wasn't until everything was said and done that I was introduced to the psycho that had been laying dormant beneath the surface.  I felt someone hovering, pulling me out of my thoughts and look up to see Jace peeking at the text from Cressida. "Man please tell me that isn't Cressida Taylor texting you", he asked a little too excitedly. I told him, "it most certainly is cousin. I met her today when Unc and me went to the meeting. I couldn't pass that chance". "My dad is going to be hurt", he laughed. "He's been trying to get her for the longest but never wants to take no for an answer. It's gross to be honest. He ain't exactly in his prime anymore and she is the true definition of a baddie that's not to be played with. But I cant blame him. If I wasn't happily married I most definitely would have been all over that". My forehead wrinkles as I see Theresa's number pop up on my phone screen for the third time since I hung up. Jace then bids me goodbye for the day and shakes his head, chuckling as he walked out of the office. I block my ex's number yet again, and finish up some of my uncle's paperwork before heading home for the night.
