"Martha, how long have you worked here?"
Martha stood by the sink, casually washing strawberries, and answered with a smile, "About 5 years."
"That's quite a long time."
"Yes. I came here to work the year Mr. Prescott returned home."
Claire's heart gave a small jolt. So Martha had only come the year Julian returned. No wonder she didn't know Martha.
In the past, when Claire had temporarily stayed with the Prescott family, Julian sometimes brought her along to nearby vacation villas for a few days. That was why she knew the housekeepers who worked in those villas.
But the villa she was staying in tonight was one she had never visited before. This villa must have been bought after Julian returned home 5 years ago.
Claire chose her words carefully. "Is Mr. Prescott... healthy?"
