ASHINA
I am walking with heavy feelings towards home. Garth refused everything I offered to him. He even refused my body. I saw desires while he looked at me but… but he still told me he was determined to reject me.
I wept. And I let my tears fall until I stood in front of our house. I wiped my tears, for I couldn't let Jenella see me crying. I can't make her feel happy for what rejection that happened to me.
I got inside and saw the bandaged head of Jenella. Such an overacting. We are werewolves, and she could heal in an instant as well. Obviously, she was doing it to gain sympathy from my father.
“Hey…” Jenella approached me with a concerned tone.
I just looked at her. Thinking of some words to make her go away. Garth doesn't want to mark me, so I need to make plan B due to the first plan that didn't work.
While looking at Jenella, I remember when she was adopted by my father when she was only eight and I was seven. She was raised by Dad as his own. She was never mistreated. Dad is so fair between us. Even Dad spoiled me, he gave all Jenella's need as well.
Staring at my evil ‘sister' I wonder why she turned out to be so vile. How could she poison my father, who treated her as his daughter? How could she do all those bad things I remembered she did in my past life?
Jealousy. Envy. That is all Jenella's heart… that she wanted to destroy my life with Garth. She hates me because I am the real alpha's daughter and not her.
And Garth…I need him to still consider me.
“What happened to you? I thought you had decided ever since it was Charles you wanted to be your mate and not Garth?” She asked in her soft voice again.
I wanna laugh as I remember how strong and vicious her voice was in my past life. She destroyed me! Jenella destroyed me, and I am not going to forget that! No matter how kind she acts now, I know how bad she is.
“Ashina, talk to me? We promised each other that there would be no secrets between us, right? We're sisters.”
“No secrets, my ass!” I hissed the words. I saw how she gasped. She's really good at acting. She could bag a best actress award if she wants to be part of the entertainment business.
“I don't know what exactly happened but… but aren't you thinking of Charles now? What do you think he would feel if he found out that you wanted to marry Garth?” Jenella stood up and sweetly touched my cheek. Her sweet gesture for me that she kept doing for years when I was feeling bad.
I don't want to say anything to her. Any words coming from me, she will use those words against me.
“Kindly tell me why you wanna marry Garth? Did you feel the strong mate call with him?”
“Yes.” It's a safe answer. And I see her ugly reaction. She didn't like my answer.
“But what about Charles? Have you forgotten he is waiting for you because you plan to elope with him tonight?”
“I changed my mind. Garth is all I want now.”
Jenella just stared at me first. She's nothing but an i***t. Waiting probably for her wolf to tell her what she will say next.
“But Charles—”
“I know you like him, Jenella. Why don't you elope with him?”
“Ash!”
My eyes squinted upon hearing what she called me.
“Like your nickname ‘Ash', you will end as ash.”
Indeed. Jenella killed me. She turned me into ashes, but the mood goddess gave me a second chance. I smiled victoriously at that thought. I have control now. All I need to do is change what wrong decisions I made before. And this woman in front of me was the first one I needed to focus on.
I will still need to convince Garth but in the meantime. I must be wise about what Jenella and her partner-in-crime, Charles, are planning against Garth and me.
“I am sorry for raising my voice,” Jenella said as if it mattered. She was still trying to look nice. “I was just surprised by what you say, Ash. It was because I know that you and Charles are meant to be and now you are telling me that I should be with him. That's impossible. Ridiculous. I can't betray you. You are my sister.”
Really? I wanted to ask, but instead, I rolled my eyes and made a face. I don't care if she feels my animosity toward her. She should feel that anyways.
“Are you jealous of me, Ash?”
“You? No.” I walked to the couch and sat there. “How could I be jealous of some lowlife werewolf like you.” I giggled as I saw her face reddened with the insult I had said.
“I'm.. sorry if my presence made you feel bad.” She had changed her style; she looked pitiful in an instant.
I am provoking her as I wanna anger her. I wanna make her show her true self. I need to make her disappear from our village.
“Regarding the accident I had earlier,” Jenella continued, “I never wanted to blame you. They accused you and I couldn't say anything to defend you for no one will listen to me,” she explained.
Oh! That is what she thought was my reason for not liking her in an instant.
I chuckled, then laughed loudly.
“Charles and you…” Jenella still has the guts to talk to me. “Remember that your wolves are attracted to each other. That is why you told everyone there is a mistake with Garth, right?”
I just looked at her gloomily. Isn't she tired of explaining and asking? Isn't the convo boring?
“I'm sorry…” Jenella smiled shyly, “but I still don't understand why you wanted to choose Garth now. You told me multiple times that you and Charles produced a mate attraction together. I support you with Charles because I know he was the one you loved since we were young.”
That made me think too. I know Garth is my mate. I know Garth was the one chosen for me by the moon goddess, but what Jenella told me about the strong mate's attraction with Charles made me….think.
Well….hell no!
Garth is my mate, but before, I was misled that there could be two possible mates for me, and I chose to reject Garth and marry Charles.
I grinned. Now way this time!
I know Jenella and Charles did something for that scent, and that will make me find what it is. And yes, this is the start of my revenge!
