Maddie’s POV:
As I walk away from the place my dad once was, I get closer to the light. Am I sure I want to go through with this?
Just as that thought went through my mind, I came alive… my body popped up on the hospital bed, I look around the room, shocked… one minute I was walking, the next minute I wake up with a throbbing head, feeling very weak.
“Princess?” Dylan asks, blinking his eyes like he’s trying to figure out if I’m real or not.
“What the hell happened?” I ask, rubbing my forehead, trying to relieve my migraine.
“Maddie Black,” An older black man comes in with a white doctor’s coat and a bunch of other doctor supplies.
“Yes, sir?” I ask, still a little confused.
“Do you remember what happened?” He asks, checking my heart beat with his stethoscope.
“I think…” I say as the memories start coming back probably faster than they should. “Okay… I wanted to know what Dylan was doing in the building, so I went to follow him instead of listening to him when he told me to stay in the car… next thing I knew was a guy with brownish hair took me and shoved me into the van… I kicked the driver in the head, pushed a guy out of the door, and as the car was getting out of control, I jumped out of the moving vehicle as it was nearing a cliff… their were maybe 6 other guys in that car, not counting the two guys who I beat… A guy… I didn’t get his name… but I got away from him… trusting the gut feeling that was telling me that he wasn’t safe… so I started hiking home with many injuries… and I believe that’s the last thing I remember,” I say, trying to think of anything else.
“Oh My God,” Dylan says with excitement… and surprise.
“What?” I ask, looking at him weirdly.
“Doctor… will you tell my men to get their asses in here… they should be in the waiting room,” Dylan states, making me roll my eyes.
“Of course, Dylan,” He says, walking out of the room.
“Are you going to tell me what unicorn you saw or something?” I ask.
“What?” He asks, looking at me with judgement.
“Why are you screaming like a little girl who got a unicorn for christmas?” I ask.
“What the hell is up with you and unicorns?” He asks, feeling my head. “Are you sick… do we need…” He begins asking unnecessary questions.
“Stop,” I say a little louder than I meant to because my head started pounding a little more than I wanted. “Can you get me some water?” I ask.
“Of course,” He says, grabbing the cup of water on the side table. “Here,” He says, handing me it. As the cold liquid goes through my throat, It felt refreshing.
“Thank you,” I hand the water back.
“SHE’S AWAKE!” I hear Will yell.
“Man… keep your voice down… my girl has a damn headache,” Dylan states.
“Sorry,” Will says. Just then, a lot more people began piling into the hospital room. And one certain person that caught my eye… Bella… she had her hair straightened, laying over her shoulders, and she’s wearing a black dress with a black sunhat.
“Bella,” I scream as I try to sit up, but get pushed back by Dylan. “Dylan…” I give him a warning look.
“What?” He asks.
“Help me up,” I say, trying to sit up again.
“Fine,” He groans as he helps me sit up.
As Bella makes her way towards me, I hear Dylan’s men whisper stuff like ‘Who’s she’ ‘She’s hot’ ‘I’d like to have her in my life’ And a lot of other things that a hormonal guy would say. It wasn’t Will… No… he was just watching Dylan help me… But Landon… he was watching her like a hawk… plus a few other men in his gang that I haven’t really met… As Bella was making her way towards me, her head was down… she hates attention… just like me.
“Hey, Maddie… are you okay?” She asks, making a smile make its way onto my face.
“Of course I am,” I say, taking her hand in mine.
“Oh my gosh… your hand is so cold,” She says, surprised.
“I’m sorry, Bel… Dylan hasn’t had the chance to warm it,” I say, glancing at a smirking Dylan.
“It’s fine,” She says with her breathtakingly beautiful smile.
“Who’s she?” Landon asks as he walks up next to Dylan, on the opposite side of the bed from Bella.
“Her name is Bella… I met her in one of my classes,” I say, watching a small glint shine in Landon’s eye.
“Hm…” He says… then I heard him growl and say ‘Mine’ just under his breath… so possessive.
“Back on course, children,” Gen says, walking up beside Bella.
“What?... Oh right,” Dylan says. “I have some amazing news… my beautiful girlfriend…”
“Back,” I hear Landon snap at one of Dylan’s men that were barely touching Bella.
“Maddie… she killed most of the men in that gang: The Bloodhounds… there are still more… but the leader is dead… thankfully my girlfriend knows how to fight,” Dylan says, smirking at me. That’s when everyone in the room started cheering, making my head hurt worse. “HEY!” Dylan yells, making everyone stop screaming. “My girlfriend is still injured, and she has a migraine… if you’re going to cheer, make sure you do it somewhere else…” Dylan says, watching his men’s faces turn from excited to sorrow.
“Sorry boss,” They mumble before walking out.
“Dylan…” My voice barely above a whisper… I’m surprised he even heard me.
“Yes my love?” He asks, turning to face me with a smile.
“When do I get to leave?” I ask.
“They said at least until tomorrow… so they can check up on you once before leaving.” He explains.
“Okay,” I say, getting cozy under the cheap hospital blanket, expecting him to leave. Just then, I felt an arm wrap around me and pulled me into a hard sculpted body. Making me shiver at the touch of such a warm body. Of course it was none other than Dylan pulling me into a warm hug. I snuggled into his warm chest then wrapped my arms around his shoulders then placed a gentle kiss on his lips.
“Ooh Dylan you’re so warm, why do I have to be so cold.” I say snuggling into him impossibly more.
“Dylan” I ask him, his eyes dart towards mine. Me a nervous wreck at his intense yet gentle stare. I move over and pat the spot next to me for him to sit down, but instead he lifts me up and sets me on his lap both of us now lying on the bed.
