Despite the good night, Katelina was glad to be out of the Dunwick motel the next morning. She superstitiously expected history to repeat itself, especially with Hectia and Verchiel still alive. She had a strange feeling that they hadn't seen the last of them - or at least him. She and Jorick stopped for dinner; for her fast food and for him, a lonely road where the wildlife didn't know to run.
