Adonis’s POV The second I heard her voice bouncing down the stairs, I knew something stupid was about to happen. Gina’s laugh was too loud, her tone too excited, that fake-happy pitch she used told me she wanted to get on my nerves. I was in the living room, feet propped on the coffee table, halfway through a protein bar and some mindless car chase movie I wasn’t even watching anymore.
