Chapter Nine At night, she lived in the small room. He lived in the big one. The rest of the apartment they shared during the day and in the evening hours. Sometimes they shared his bed too, or he shared hers. That was when he wanted to have her in the shallow end of night before the dawn broke, before there was even a trace of light appearing in the sky. His darkest visions reigned then, and apparently hers too, because she was always willing at that spooky hour to have him bind her to her bed, take his pleasure and leave her there until morning.
