CHAPTER 2

494 Words
On my much-cherished day off, excitement crackled in the air as we hatched a plan to visit the amazement park—courtesy of Hayden’s generous treat. Paul’s eyes lit up with joy, shining like stars, as he zipped through his homework. “I just want to make sure everything is perfect!” he exclaimed, his focus unwavering as he double-checked each answer. Once he was satisfied, we dispersed to transform ourselves for a day of fun and adventure. I carefully selected an outfit that reflected my mood: a crisp white blouse that felt light and airy against my skin, paired with dark blue denim jeans that hugged my figure comfortably. After a refreshing shower, I took a moment to enjoy the steam swirling around me before stepping out and drying off. I then styled my long, black hair into a neat ponytail and applied a hint of makeup to enhance my features. Standing before the mirror, I marvelled at the woman looking back at me—a stunning 5'8" with light chocolate skin that glowed softly in the light, and light brown eyes that seemed to dance with warmth, especially in the sunlight. Hayden, my brother, stood in stark contrast as a towering 6'3," with dark brown eyes and jet-black hair, radiating a rugged charm. “Lexus, hurry up! We’re ready!” Hayden called out, a hint of playful urgency in his voice. I smiled at their eagerness, grabbed my bag, and stepped into the living room where both my brothers awaited like excited puppies. “All done!” I announced, my voice brimming with enthusiasm. “Wow, angel sister, you look absolutely stunning!” Paul declared, his voice filled with admiration, his innocent awe making me blush. “And you guys look so handsome! I’m worried the ladies will steal my dates!” We burst into laughter, the sound echoing joyfully in our cosy home as we locked the door behind us, ready to embrace the world outside. As we stepped into the bright day, we encountered Mrs. Lee, our kind-hearted landlord, who had been a maternal figure to us since we lost our parents. Despite her middle age, a gentle spirit radiated from her, she always offered us support and love, especially towards Paul when we were busy at work. Paul rushed over, enveloping her in a warm hug. “Hello, Mrs. Lee! How are you today?” we greeted in unison. She looked up from her potted plants and smiled brightly, “Oh wow, you all look wonderful! Where are you headed?” she inquired, her smile broadening as she took in our energy. “That sounds delightful! You all deserve a fun day out. Just remember to bring me back a little surprise, alright?” she said, her voice filled with encouragement. “Be careful out there! I’ll be waiting for you.” We waved goodbye, a feeling of warmth flooding over us as we set off to make memories.
