"WAKE UP STARLY" Stephen yelled as he pushed me in the floor.
" goddess Stephen, what time is it?" slowly getting back on my bed.
"oh stop being such a baby, it's 5am." I stair at him as he grins from ear to ear. "come on it's your 17th birthday let's go"
I put on some joggers and one of Stephen's hoodie that is way to big for me and follow him down the steps of the pack house. once we make it to the edge of the woods we strip and shift into our wolves. Letting Voilet take control as I shift. We run to the creek at the meadows and play around in the water before hunting. Stephen and I have been hunting together since we were 13 when we first shifted we both shifted way before we were supposed to. Most wolves don't shift until they are 16. Maria was so jealous that we shifted before her but never really cared to much because she was always focused on her boyfriend Bryan. Bryan and Maria have been together since before I can remember. After hunting we went home to get ready for my party and hopefully today will be the day I find my mate. It is very rare for a wolf to not find their mate when they turn 17.
Maria walkes in my room without notice and scares the goddess out of me. "hey girl ready for your big day? I'm so excited to see who your mate is" messing with my hair.
I growl in a low tone having just finished my hair" I am to I hope it is one of the james brothers they are so sweet."
jumping around Maria helps me zip up my dress. We walk outside to find Stephen waiting for us at the car. one of the bad things about having so much territory is we have to use car if we don't want to shift.
once we arrive at the party Maria jumps out to go find Bryan. As I go to grab the handle Stephen pulls my arm."hey I wanted to give you your present now because I think you should wear it" he hands me a little wooden box that has stars in graved.
When I open the box I realize that it is a peace of my father's and mother's diamonds they had in their wedding rings black and yellow. I hug him tightly crying. " i love it I'll never take it off" putting it around my neck.

we walk in and a strong pine smell hits me hard *mate!!* Violet says to me in my head *find our mate!!*
As I walk around the crowd of wolves and she-wolves I bump into maria and smell my mate on her. " maria who have you been talking to ?"
confused she says the one name I didn't want to hear" Bryan?"
he walked over slowly looking me in the eyes the whole time. I feel so nauseous oh goddess how could this happen to me? "B-Bryan" I say nervously looking down at my shoes.
"Star I'm so sorry but you can't be my mate I'm already in love"
glance over at maria with complete shock on her face I feel my body begin to shack knowing what's coming. "I - I understand" I say softly
"I'm really sorry for this but i, Bryan Lee, reject you ,star blackhook,as my mate"
I feel intense pain crash over me as I turn to run out of the building. I run behind the building and straight into Stephen's rock hard chest. I know it him because he smells of marshmallow and pizza.
pulling me away to see my face he looks sad then anger " who made you cry I'll kill them. who was it?"
leaning back in weeping into his chest I got out" h-hhe r-rrej-jected-d me"
"your mate? who is it I'm gonna murder him. I swear to goddess."
I hug him tighter calming myself down to talk to him. " no you can't hurt him Maria loves Bryan"
stock washed over his face and with disbelief he says"but why would the moon goddess do this its not right?" pulling away and kissing my head" I'll be right back I'm going to get you some water okay?"
"okay." I stand for a moment while I feel the pain instantly get stronger knowing that bryan is probably trying to comfort Maria right now. *we need to run and get far away from here* my wolf whispers *yes I know we are only going to suffer more if we stay*
I rip off my dress shift into Violet and started running as fast as I can. knowing no one from our pack can catch me because of my alpha spend.I stop at a longer after about 2hours into the forest. I slowly fall asleep through the pain and exhaustion.
