Layla's heart raced as Ryker's eyes seemed to bore into her soul. She felt a shiver run down her spine as he reached out to stroke her cheek, his touch sending waves of heat through her body. The auctioneer's voice cut through the air, his words a distant hum as Layla's senses were overwhelmed by Ryker's presence. "Very well, Mr. Blackwood. The young woman is yours. Please, take her and enjoy." Ryker's smile was a thin, cruel line as he reached out to grasp Layla's wrist. He pulled her down from the auction block, his grip like a vice as he led her through the crowded room. Layla stumbled, her legs trembling beneath her as Ryker's pace quickened. She was dragged through the winding corridors of the auction house, the sounds of the crowd growing fainter with each step. Finally, they emerged into the cool night air, the stars twinkling above like diamonds. Ryker's car, a sleek black vehicle with tinted windows, waited at the curb. He opened the door, pushing Layla inside before following her into the vehicle. The door slammed shut behind them, and Layla was plunged into darkness. She felt Ryker's presence beside her, his eyes gleaming in the dim light. "Where are we going?" Layla asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Ryker's smile was a flash of white in the darkness. "You'll see," he said, his voice low and menacing. "But for now, just sit back and enjoy the ride." Layla's heart sank as the car pulled away from the curb, speeding into the night. She had no idea where she was going, or what lay ahead. All she knew was that she was at Ryker's mercy, and that thought filled her with a sense of dread. As the hours passed, Layla's fatigue began to overwhelm her. She had been on edge for what felt like an eternity, and the rhythmic hum of the engine was starting to lull her into a state of semi-consciousness. Ryker's voice cut through the fog, his words sharp and commanding. "Stay awake, Layla," he growled, his hand reaching out to grasp her shoulder. "We're almost there." Layla's eyes snapped open, her heart racing as she struggled to sit up straight. The car was slowing, the engine purring as Ryker navigated the winding roads. Finally, the car came to a stop, the door opening with a soft creak. Ryker stepped out, his eyes gleaming in the moonlight as he reached out to pull Layla from the vehicle. She stumbled, her legs trembling beneath her as Ryker led her towards a sprawling mansion. The building loomed above them, its walls towering and imposing. Layla's heart sank as Ryker pushed her through the front door, the sound of locks clicking into place behind them. She was trapped, at Ryker's mercy, and she had no idea what lay ahead. As they stepped into the foyer, Layla's eyes adjusted to the bright light. The room was opulent, the walls adorned with expensive artwork and the floors covered in plush, white carpet. Ryker's eyes seemed to gleam with pride as he gestured to the room. "Welcome to my home, Layla," he said, his voice low and menacing. "You'll be staying here with me, at least for the time being." Layla's heart sank, her mind racing with thoughts of escape. She knew that she had to get away from Ryker, no matter what it took. But for now, she was trapped, at his mercy, and she had no idea what lay ahead. As Ryker's eyes seemed to bore into her soul, Layla felt a shiver run down her spine. She knew that she had to be careful, that one wrong move could mean disaster. But she also knew that she couldn't give up, that she had to keep fighting no matter what. With a deep breath, Layla steeled herself for what lay ahead. She would survive this, no matter what it took. She would escape, and she would make sure that Ryker paid for what he had done to her. But for now, she was trapped, and she had no idea what Ryker had planned for her.
