But despite the comfort and security that she had found, Layla couldn't shake the feeling that there was something dark and sinister lurking beneath the surface of Ryker's polished exterior. She had seen glimpses of it in the way that he would sometimes look at her, his eyes gleaming with a fierce and possessive intensity.
And then, one night, Layla stumbled upon a dark secret that would change everything.
She had been exploring the mansion, searching for a book to read before bed. As she wandered through the deserted corridors, she stumbled upon a door that she had never seen before. It was hidden behind a tapestry, and it looked like it hadn't been used in years.
