Aira’s POV
Seeing Knox frozen had scared the life out of me. I’d been certain Jack was going to annihilate him, breaking him into a million little frozen pieces.
“Shall we go upstairs?” I asked, tugging on his hand. “You need to get out of those wet clothes. You must be freezing!”
“I’d actually rather stay here and finish negotiations with your father,” Knox replied tightly.
Oh, dear. He was angry.
“Nonsense. We’re all but finished, anyway. You two lovebirds go spend time together. In fact, I am so sorry, you two. I should have brought you two together first, not secreted Knox off to my office for business,” my father said.
I actually had been a little miffed that Knox hadn’t come to see me first, but I understood now. Father had cornered him. “It’s all right. We’re together now.” I
