Rowdy
“I don't want her getting told the wrong info. No discussing our less than legal ventures. That is to protect her." We all nod in agreement.
" Another thing. Dad gave her half the clubhouse, the house, and the auto shop. So she owns the club even though she doesn't want it." " Doesn't want it?" Thor asks.
" Because she didn't know dad or this life. Since she wasn’t here, she doesn't feel she earned it. She wants everything handed to me. I convinced her to hold off for now until she has had time to learn about everything."
He looks around the table: "You are my most trusted friends, my brothers. I want your help to make sure she is comfortable and safe. Make her family. Tell her stories about dad if she asks. Help me give her a reason to stay."
" Prez, what about her old man or the father of the twins? Isn't he part of her family? Is he someone we need to worry about?" Axel asks.
Yeah, that’s what I want to know. Where is he? Is he coming later? Prez closes his eyes and pinches the bridge of his nose for a brief moment before he answers, "She doesn't know, I know this. I'm hoping she will tell me on her own one day. She was engaged about four years ago to the twin’s father. They were high school sweethearts.”
“He was killed in combat three months after they got engaged. Shortly before the twins were born. I don't want that repeated. If she wants to tell, it is up to her.''
“So she was made a widow at 19. Raising those boys on her own," Brick says. Prez just nods. I'm not sure who says it, but "Damn "is all you hear. She has been through hell in her short life but still walks around with a smile on her face.
I look up at Prez “You have my word. I will help out in any way I can.” Everyone at the table all nods in agreement. " Thank you brothers,” Prez says and dismisses Church.
We make our way back to the bar just as Merigold and the twins are coming from the back. The twins run to Prez and slam into his legs. " Unka Viper the playroom is Awesome," they say in unison.
" I'm glad you like it. Anytime you are here, you can go in there as long as mom says it's okay," Prez says, smiling. "Unka Viper, I'm thirsty," one says. I can’t tell them apart yet. " Okay, Jax. What about you, Jace?" Jace just nodded.
" We will get you some root beer. Hop up on a stool," Prez says. We hear someone clear their throat from behind us. Prez turns "Spoiling them already I see," Merigold says with a smile.
" Please momma?" I think it is, Jax asks. " One," and she points to Prez "Anymore than that, your Uncle Viper's problem." The boys jumped up. " Yes" We be Unka Viper's probem" they say in unison. I try very hard not to laugh at the cuteness. She just smiles and shakes her head.
She is standing close to me and I catch the smell of strawberries and vanilla coming from her. I swear my f*****g d**k is going to have a zipper imprint on it. I met her less than an hour ago and my d**k doesn't want to stay down.
Merigold
The boys kneel on the bar stools drinking their root beers. Viper walks up to me. I decided to start calling him that out of respect for him. " So did you have a good look around?" " I did, yes. The place is huge. I like that you have a kid-friendly section."
" Momma didn't want go playroom." Jace laughs. Viper looks at me with his eyebrow raised. " Why is that?" Lug Nut starts cracking up from behind me. Viper looks at him, then back to me.
I pinch the bridge of my nose, took a deep breath, then told the boys, “Boys radio silence.” They automatically cover their ears and hum to themselves. " All Lug Nut said was that he wanted to show me the playroom. I see a club of guys. I know you have the club bunnies around.”
“ I just wanted to make sure we weren't walking into a s*x dungeon with whips, chains, leather straps, handcuffs, and whatnot. I really didn't want to have to explain that to the boys. So I told him we could skip that room." At least three guys spit out their drinks. Lug Nut is bent over laughing.
Viper has his eyes closed and is grinding his teeth: "First, I would never allow you or the boys into a room like that if we had one. Second, I Never, Ever want to hear the words whips and chains come out of your mouth again. I don't even want to know how you know those words."
I tried to suppress a laugh which I'm doing better than Lug Nut. " Got it. I can only say leather straps and handcuffs." At that, Lug Nut loses it. Viper growls and yells, “Prospect out.” Still laughing, Lug Nut says, "See you around Merigold." I give a small wave. I tapped the boys on the shoulder twice. They drop their hands "Radio silence clear."
" I want to know what you think of the place in a minute. But first I want you to explain what you just did," Viper says. For a second, I'm not sure what he is talking about. " You mean the radio silence thing?"
He nods, and I notice all the guys are looking at me. " When the boys can't leave the room for adults to talk, we can put them in radio silence. They cover their ears and softly hum to themselves. Two taps on the shoulder and radio silence clear let them know they can listen again.” "Boys go blind," I say. Everyone watches the boys cover their eyes without hesitation. I tap their shoulders three times "Visual clear" and they drop their hands.
" Three taps for visuals," I say. " Impressive." Viper says. " That cause us, soldiers!" Jax says, beaming with pride. " Yes, you are buddy," I say. "Now I want to know what you think about the clubhouse?" Viper asks. It is almost like he is nervous. " I like it. Going to take some getting used to. But I was wondering why I didn't see the sign," I said.
" What sign?" Viper asks. I step on the back of Tank's barstool and hold on to his shoulders. " May I, big guy?" " Sure," he says clearly, having no idea what I’m doing. I answered Viper: " The sign that says I have to be this tall to join," and hold my hand over the top of Tank's head.
Ace starts cracking up, and the rest follow: " She has her father's sense of humor." Viper just shakes his head but I can tell he is laughing too. They get in control when Jax asks " Unka Viper if these you brothers, do that mean they are unkas too?" Tank answers, "Sure it does, little buddy."
The boys start bouncing in their seats. " Yeah. More unkas." they say. That starts another round of laughing.
