Harper
"Louis c'mon, let me talk to him..." I said while rubbing the area where he had slapped me.
"No! No you don't get that chance Harper!" Louis screamed at me. Liam grabbed his waist and pulled him back inside.
"Shh babe, I know you're being a good friend but Harper deserves a chance to explain himself," Liam said in a hushed whisper, "Look, he's come all the way from America in less than 24 hours. Don't you think he deserves that?"
I hear Louis sigh as he reappears.
"Nick's upstairs. I'd say don't f**k up, but I don't think it'll do you or me any good."
He completely ignored me as I came in and quickly went upstairs.
"Nick?"
A door at the end of the hallway slammed shy and I knew he noticed my voice. I banged on the door, begging him to let me in.
"Please Ni! Let me explain myself!"
The door opened and Nick came out, tears streaming down his face.
"Oh my god," I pulled him into my arms and began to whisper in his ear,
"She spiked my drink, I had no idea, please please forgive me...I love you."
Nick
I shook my head and Harper let out a choked sob.
I can't play this game with you anymore Harper, you're stressing me out; your life is stressing me out. With this fake relationship with Eleanor and the press and everything Harper I CAN'T HANDLE THIS. If you really want me as much as you say, please understand that this relationship can't work as long as I'm under all this stress.
He stood still as he read my response to his proposal.
"So this is it then? Everything that we ever had, all thrown away because of one mistake? Because Eleanor spiked my drink? Nick what she did affected my actions I was unknowingly drunk--"
Harper IT'S BEEN MORE THAN ONCE. THAT'S THE POINT. I CAN'T STAND YOU CHEATING ON ME EVERY FIVE SECONDS.
"God Nick the first time I was sober the second time I was drunk. Intoxicated; I had no idea what I was doing!"
I looked up and him and began to write,
I forgive you, but I'm breaking up with you. Your new life and our relationship are two things that can't go together. I'll see you around Harper. Please, go back to America.
six weeks later
a summary of the past six weeks
Nick and Louis have started university classes. It's around the end of September and they're both adjusting well. Although, Nick is still grieving over he and Harper's falling out. He's living with Louis and Liam, who are treating him delicately.
Harper on the other hand, is doing terribly. The past six weeks have been filled with drunken nights, Elenaor, interviews, and performances. Harper's fame has increased, but his pain is going along with it.
Both boys love each other endlessly but Harper needs to set his priorities straight before it all self-destructs in front of him.
Nick
"Nick, where's my schedule I can't find it!"
I threw Louis' schedule on the table and rushed upstairs to get my bag. It was the third week of college and we still didn't have it together.
Things were different without Harper. A lot different actually, especially on my birthday. I had been so excited to spend it with him a month as a half ago.
"Nick Ni--you alright?"
I realized I was staring out the window with tears in my eyes as Louis' grabbed my shoulder.
"Ni, are you gonna be okay?"
I shook my head and Louis took me in his embrace.
"We need to find you a new guy Nick," Louis whispered.
