Rekka awkwardly started.
-So, umm…
-We are listening redhead. – Said Ichika in a menacing tone.
-You have heard about the Great Ruinations, Right?
-We learned about them last year, and? – Continued Ichika.
-The Second Great Ruination, Ruination of Destruction, Aedos, is sealed inside me. – Rekka said in a scared tone.
-Stop lying! He died… - Ren approached Rekka, but Ichika stopped and glazed at him.
-Are you telling the truth? – Asked Ichika.
-I’m not lying, I promise! – Rekka bowed – I swear, sometimes, it’s hard to control him! I-I go berserk in the most unexpected moments in some cases!
-And you did, nothing? Does anyone know this?
-Only some adventurers and Elite Guards. – Rekka was anxious – I’m doomed. Because of me, Whitebolt is going to get in trouble! – These kind of thought ran in his head.
Ichika sighed and calmed down a bit. Ren was watching in shock.
-How did he revive!?
-I don’t know the exact reason, I was born with him in Highfalls. – Answered Rekka.
A thought struck Ichika.
-That’s why you’ve been acting weird lately? You were scared of going back?
-Yes… - Rekka said, quietly.
-We won’t tell this fact to anyone, but instead, give me some sort of guarantee you won’t go berserk anymore. – Said Ichika. She stood up and opened the door.
-I’ll stay calm. It will be harder for him to gain control.
-Are you sure we shouldn’t warn others about a LITERAL Great Ruination is amongst them? – Said irritated Ren.
Ichika made a tired face.
-What should we do more? Cause great panic? Kill Rekka? Or should we call in the Elite Guards and they will defeat him? We can’t do anything. If some people know it and keep it a secret, it’s because of a reason. Now leave, I’m too tired.
-W-we will! – Answered nervous Rekka.
Ren was confused. He thought that it was wrong to keep that a fact like that a secret. He was irritated, but trusted Ichikas decision. They both left and headed towards their room.
-Hey. – Asked Ren – Do you have fire powers because of him?
-Yes… - Answered Rekka in a quiet voice – I was born with it, as I said back there.
-*Sigh* What if you go berserk tomorrow? Will we be there to stop you? You know how strong you are, but that demon, he is on a another level.
Rekka kept silent and they arrived in their room. Ren read a book on the bed and Rekka just thought about Akio, Hina and his family. Their night was awkward, they didn’t talk at all. At last, the sun rose and the next day came along. Rekka woke up and looked around. Everything seemed normal. He put on clothes and went down in the fields to sort out his thought.
-Am I too dangerous to be around everyone? – He thought.
The soft wind gently moved the grass fields. Rekka heard someone approaching him. He looked around and saw it was Ichika. She adjusted her glasses and sat down next to him.
-Good morning. – She said in a kind voice.
-Oh, good morning. – Awkwardly answered Rekka – About yesterday I…
-Don’t sweat about it. It’s out of your control. – Ichika looked straight at Rekka – Don’t leave my side. If anything happens, I want to protect those in need.
Rekka nodded his head and laid down.
-Were leaving in a couple of hours. – Ichika stood up – If I were you, I would get ready.
She walked away, leaving the boy behind.
-Didn’t you listen, I said don’t leave my side.
-My bad, sorry! – Rekka quickly stood up and ran to her.
They both packed their belongings and left. Rekka looked back at the village. The memories that he made here, only brought him pain.
The teacher stopped the carts near a mountain. Big rocks covered the place.
-Everyone, please gather around. – She said.
Student came out. Some were sleeping and most of them were tired.
-Our next destination is a hot spring. Sadly, it’s up high in the mountains, so our carts can’t reach, so we have to go on foot from here. It’s a great resort and I’m sure everyone will have a great time and rest.
The students mood came back, but they were lazy to climb a huge hill.
-A hot spring? – Rekka scratched his head.
-Never been in a one? – Aske Ichika.
-No, I only came across one when reading a book. – Awkwardly said the boy.
-It’s a great resting area. I’m sure you will enjoy it.
The kids went on their way. The teacher was leading the way. After a long twenty-minute walk, they arrived. A building was built on a side of a mountain. It was beautiful. A waterfall was going next to it with exotic trees covering the surroundings. They entered the building and the teacher bargained with the old man running the place.
-Alright kids, we will be staying here for the night. – She said – You’re free to do whatever you desire, of course, nothing that would cause problems.
The teacher then showed everyone their rooms. They were simple, but comfortable.
-Teacher, - Asked Ichika – Can me and Rekka share the same room?
-Sorry, but boy and girls can’t be in the same room. It’s the rules. – She then walked off.
Ichika sighed. Ren approached her.
-I’ll stay with him. Don’t worry, you can trust me to keep him in check.
Ichika nodded her head and left for the springs.
-Hey, want to go too? – Asked Ren with a kind smile.
-Sure? – Answered Rekka.
They went to the dressing rooms, got their towels and went inside the spring.
-This is nice. – Thought Rekka.
Other boys were there too. They were amazed.
-Wow, you have such a well-toned body Rekka. You look like a model. – Said one boy.
Someone hit him in the head.
-Don’t be so weird! He’s younger than us. – He whispered.
-Well, I train every day for years now. – Rekka nervously giggled, closed his eyes and put his hand at the back of his head.
Some time passed. Rekka and Ren passed the time enjoying the spring. The girl’s spring was next to them, but it was blocked off with a giant wall.
-Psst. – Whispered one boy – How can we peek.
The boy was immediately punched in the head by his friend. Rekka giggled. After a while, it got dark and they left. Rekka got back in his room. He slept on the calmly. Ren was watching over him, but eventually gave in a fell asleep as well.
Meanwhile, the apocalypse was approaching. Oneiros yawned. He was bored.
-Well, enough of this.
With his right arm, he broke off the chains in his left arm.
-Finally, I CAN CONTROL MY MAGIC!
He laughed and clapped his hands. Fire enlightened the dark area.
-Sadly, I can’t break off these four chains that seal my lower body, but this should be more than enough… Soon, PEOPLE WILL SAY MY NAME IN TERROR ONCE AGAIN!
