The sun rose from the abyss, lighting up the skies and the city fields. It hit Rekkas eye, waking him. The boy stood up and stretched. He put on his academy clothes and headed downstairs to eat breakfast. -Good morning Whitebolt. – Said Rekka in a tired voice. -Morning. – Answered Whitebolt, reading a newspaper. -Good morning Rekka-sama. – The maids greeted him. Rekka ate the delicious meals and went outside towards the academy. On the way, he met up with Mira and Mari. -Hello Rekka! – They said in sync. -Hello girls. – Rekka was too tired to speak. The day before, he went through hellish training. -Why are you so sad? – They asked. -I’m not, just tired. He made a huge yawn. After a while, he they caught up with the others. -Morning guys. -Morning. – Answered his friends. -We have a test tomorrow. – Said Maeko in an exhausted voice – I already know how to kill monsters, why do I need to learn how they reproduce or something like that. – She said while making weird gestures. Rekka and the others giggled and they arrived. Everyone greeted Rekka, and some greeted Sora. Rekka went up to his class. While he was 13 years old, others in his class were 16. It was awkward for the most time, but Rekka was respected. After all, he was stronger than they were. -Good morning everyone. – Said Rekka as he walked in class. -Morning Rekka-sama. – Answered Ren. Ichika looked up and adjusted her glasses. -Good morning, Rekka. Rekka awkwardly waved his hand and sat down in his seat. After a couple of minutes, the teacher walked in. -Sit down everyone, I have an announcement to make. – She said and put her hand on the desk – The academy decided to make it’s first ever school trip. It’s a test, so only Reds and Goldens are allowed to go. The class suddenly cheered on. -Where is it teach? – Asked Ren. -Were going to visit the infamous Ghost Town of Tow and then stay in Oxwood for – She pointed it with her finger - 3 days. The trip will take lot longer than that though, -Whoah! – The class was happy. -I always wanted to visit Tow! – The kids started talking to each other. Painful memories started to come to Rekkas head. The memory of the lively towns citizens being burnt alive, Akio being mercilessly murdered. He snapped. -WE CAN’T! – Rekka stood up and banged his hand on the desk. Everyone was shocked. -Why? – Asked the teacher. -Well, because, it’s not s-s-s-s… - Rekka sad down and put his hands on his head. He was holding in the painful tears. Memories that he thought was gone surged in like a landslide. -Rekka, are you okay? – The teacher got worried and approached him – Rekka… - He extended his hand to help, but Rekka slapped it away. The boy lifted his head and realized what he has done. -I-I’m sorry! I don’t know what has gotten into me, I… The whole class looked at him weirdly. It was their first time seeing Rekka this flustered. -I’ll brush it off this time, but I won’t be as forgiving if this repeats. – Said the teacher and returned to his seat. Rekka thought about all the possibilities. He was scared that people would notice him. Then, an idea struck him. -Teacher, can I not come along? – He asked with high hopes. -Sorry, but it’s mandatory. If you don’t go this year, you have to go in the next one. If a second trip happens, that is. – The teacher answered – Well then class, let’s get back to todays subject. The classes ended. Rekka was stressed. He had accepted his past, but still wasn’t over it. It was winter, so the sun was already setting when the classes ended. He met up with his friends. They noticed something was off about him. -Did something happen, Rekka? – Asked worried Maeko. -I’m going on a school trip I don’t want to go. – Answered Rekka. -Can’t you just decline? – Said Sora – Wait, why weren’t we invited? -Only Reds and Goldens go. Plus, it’s mandatory, so I can’t decline. – Rekkas voice was shaking. -Is that even legal? – Asked Kaito. -Well, the school decides it’s rules. – Said Maeko and sighed. Rekka returned home and explained the situation to Whitebolt. -Why wouldn’t you want to go? It seems fun. – Whitebolt remembered that Daichi found him in the city – Did your family die in the tragedy? – He thought – To think about it, I know nothing about his family. -They got murdered by an mercenary. – Answered Rekka and tightly gripped his chest. Whitebolt leaned on one knee and put his hand on Rekka. -Look, I know that it will be painful and tough to visit a place that only brings terror, but if you want to become stronger and move forwards, you need to defeat your past demons. – He stood up – I’m not forcing you anything, it’s up to you to decide. Rekka nodded his head and headed towards the training grounds. That night, he decided to defeat his past and go. Meanwhile, Oneiros hanged in his chains. -Poor little Rekka. – He giggled – Defeat your past? I think that you forgot that your past still lives with you. I think it’s time we remember some “times” we had “fun” together. – He laughed hysterically. Oneiros had broken down the chains that held his right arm, and he was freely able to move it. -Become strong to defeat me? You don’t have nearly enough time, or will…
