Chapter 49: Maeko And The Boys

-Maeko? – Abruptly said Rekka.

He quickly stood up and tried to run away. Before he could, Maeko pulled Rekkas shirt. Rekka still ran, making Maeko fall down. He turned around after hearing the sound.

-Maeko! Are you okay? – He was wiping of his tears – Sorry. I didn't want to make you fall.

Maeko stood up. Her knees were dirty. She got irritated.

-Why did you run? – She still said it calmly. She didn't show emotions.

-Well, I, I... - Rekka again started to tear up. He clenched his fists and bit his lip – IM SORRY!

Maeko got confused.

-What are you sorry for? – She thought about yesterday – Oh. Don't think I was mad at you for playing with us. I was just... Not in the mood.

-NO! – Rekka screamed, making Maeko startle. He calmed down – It's not that... I did something that can't be forgiven.

Maeko put her hand on Rekkas arm and tried to take him with her. But Rekka suddenly moved his hand away, making Maeko let go.

-I should leave. – Seriously said Rekka.

He started to walk away. Maeko was confused, but at the same time she was angry. She couldn't hold it back anymore.

-Where are you going! – She shouted – You haven't told me anything!

Rekka slowly turned around. He was shocked about Maekos sudden change. He thought she was quiet and shy.

-Don't follow me. – Said Rekka. He raised his tone a bit.

-Explain to me what happened! Did you hurt my friends? – Maeko was walking up with loud steps.

Rekka started running and Maeko started chasing him. She couldn't catch him and Rekka ran out of her sight.

-Why did he run? – Thought Maeko and returned to his friends. She again got saddened.

She arrived at the park. She saw Sora and Kaito sitting on a bench eating sweets. Kaito noticed her and lifted his arm up, waving at her.

-Maekoo! – He screamed – Come sit with us!

Maeko sat next to them.

-You look more tired than usual, did something happen? – Asked Sora.

-I met Rekka. He was running and crying. Reminded me of myself...

Sora hit Kaito in the head.

-He mean Kaito said something harsh to him.

-Hey! – Kaito got annoyed.

-Why was Rekka apologizing to me? – Asked Maeko.

Kaito stood up.

-He hurt me with his magic! – He confidently said.

-Why are you so happy about that you doofus! – Thought Sora while looking at Kaito with disappointment.

-He has magic? – Maeko was astonished.

-Yes! Strong one too! He can throw and create fireballs out of nowhere!

-Enough about Rekka. – Said Sora and stood up – He will come back. If something happens, we know he is staying with Whitebolt and we can visit him.

Maeko nodded her head. They continued to walk in the park. A couple of days have passed and Rekka still hasn't shown up. The kids grew concerned and decided to visit Whitebolt.
