-What happened? – Duster was looking at the curse lifting.
After a couple of minutes, the scar completely vanished. Jetos smiled and sat down. He sighed, relieved that he wasn’t under control anymore.
-Mother, father, little sis, we did it. – He wiped off a single tear.
-Is he still obsessed with his revenge? – Thought Duster – What are you talking about?
-Hokori, I think it’s time for you to know where I’m from, or why you found me in the Night Forest. You can kill me if you want; I have done what I wanted for this long 600 years.
Jetos leaned on the wall and started telling his life story, how he met Aedos and Juwy. Duster didn’t know how to react.
-Don’t tell anyone this Isvell, or you might get in trouble.
-Tell what? – Junkara walked through the gates – What were you boy’s talking about? – He noticed the scar on Jetos was gone and smiled. He walked up to the elf sat down with his sword – What to do about you now?
-He’s innocent father, it was all that woman’s schemes. – Said Duster. He was nervous about what Junkara would do to Jetos if he found out.
-I listened to his story.
-Sir I… - Jetos got interrupted.
-Don’t worry, I won’t kill you. There are laws that protect a person if they are forced to commit illegal activities under someone else’s magic influence.
Duster sighed from relief.
-There is a problem though. – Said Junkara – People won’t believe you, even I wouldn’t have If I hadn’t hear the story. I’m still not sure what to do with you. Hmm.
-I can transform into a normal elf sir, without gray skin and normal hair. – Nervously said Jetos.
Junkara took a thinking pose. After a while, he stood up.
-That can happen. Okay, let’s to that. I’ll talk to Sukoda and the others about this. They can’t disobey me. – Junkara placed his massive sword on his shoulder and before reaching the exit, turned around – Remember, if you do something despicable again, I won’t be merciful.
He let out a speck of his aura, filling Jetos with fear.
-Yes sir. – He gripped his heart as the aura made him feel dizzy.
-Thank you father. – Thought Duster and made a kind smile – Well then Isvell, let’s not waste any more precious time! To Nissel we go! – He was back to being goofy. He had analyzed Jetos story, and thought that he was innocent. He even pitied him.
-I must ask you, how did you follow and find me here? – Asked curious Jetos.
-I followed your tracks. I searched day and night for you, I’m glad it’s over.
-Where’s Maya?
Duster clenched his fist. His mood suddenly changed.
-Don’t speak of her name; there still are things I can’t forgive. – Said Duster in a threatening tone.
-Did I do something? – Thought Jetos.
He stood up and stretched.
-Let’s head back, I miss home.
He used magic on himself and turned to a normal looking elf. He even looked attractive. Duster nodded his head and they started their journey.
They travelled for a couple of months on foot. They remembered their times together and had a great time all around. Once, when they were travelling, they found a bar. It was taken care of nicely. It was the middle of the night, but they still entered. A man in a black coat was cleaning a glass and smoking a cigar.
-Welcome customers. – He said and put the glass on the counter – How may a help you?
-This is a comfortable place. – Said Duster and giggled.
-Can agree. – Answered Isvell.
-Give us your finest drinks. – They sat down.
The bartender took out his most expensive wine and poured it in small cups.
-Did you run straight out of a restaurant? – He asked and giggled.
-People tell me that a lot. – Said Duster in a kind of irritated voice.
-This drink expensive, the purest wine can get. You can pay up, right?
-We can. – Answered Jetos.
-Why do you have this bar built away from the city grounds? I bet costumers come in rarely. – Said Duster and drank the wine – This is good. – He thought.
-There are some things that should be kept a secret. But the main reason is, I don’t like noise or heavy crowds.
-So that’s the reason. – Thought Duster and suspiciously looked at the bartender – This isn’t the country I supervise, but I still heard some rumors when I was travelling nearby, that people who come here disappear without a trace. Care to explain?
Needle glanced over at Duster.
-People may get drunk and the head towards the forest. They might get lost there.
-Hmm. – Jetos grew suspicious too.
-You got the eyes of a killer. – Said Duster with a wicked smile.
-I don’t know what you are talking about. – Needle was getting irritated.
Duster put the money on the table and stood up.
-Let’s leave.
Isvell nodded his head and stood up too. They started heading towards the exit.
-Fools. – Thought Needle.
Jetos suddenly turned around and extended his Void Arm. He caught needles with his arm.
-Guess I was right. – Needle heard a noise behind him.
He quickly turned around but no one was there. Duster tried to punch him but Needle turned invisible. Suddenly, from all corners needles started coming. Jetos blocked them with his Void Arms. He extended one and hit invisible Needle making him cough up blood. Duster appeared behind him and kicked him in the head. He thought the knocked out the killer, but needle touched his leg and burned it.
-Ah! – Shouted Duster.
Needle got free, turned invisible and ran away with his incredible speed.
-Those people are monsters. – He thought – Who are they or where did they come from?
Isvell ran to Duster. His leg was severely burnt.
-Are you okay?
-Do I look okay? – Giggled Duster – We’ll tell the guards about him.
-Rest for now. – Isvell looked up – Are you thinking what I’m thinking.
-Free drinks, heh. – Said Duster – One couldn’t hurt.
The next day, they notified the guards about the murderer.
-We’ll immediately get him. – Said the guards.
The information about Needles identity leaking got to the higher ups too. They still kept him hidden, as he was doing their dirty job. Duster and Isvell stayed in the country for a couple of day more, and then headed towards Limasse.
