The next day came. Rekka ate some food and went to the training grounds. Whitebolt unexpectedly approached him. He had a tired expression on his face.
-Did something happen? – Asked Rekka.
-Yes. I know this is all of a sudden, but I need to leave again.
-What, why? – Rekka was surprised and stopped training.
-The Ruination Worshippers are on the move again. They have been hiding for the past decades, but for some reason, they came back.
-Are they dangerous? – Rekka was startled.
-In the past, they only committed small crimes, but this time is different. It's like they have a set goal in mind this time.
Rekka started sweating out of nervousness.
-Everything will be okay. I'll be back in a week or so. – Said Whitebolt in a soothing voice and left.
-Be careful! – Shouted Rekka and waved his hand – I hope this won't be like last time.
*Two days later*
-Who is he!?
-Run!
An unknown man sliced the guards in a black cloak.
-Follow me my people! SOON, we will enter the city!
The people behind hummed.
-It won't be that easy.
-Huh? – The man heard a feminine voice and turned around.
It was Maya. She had a serious look on her face.
-I finally found you creature. – Said Maya in a menacing tone.
They were outside the city grounds, deep within a forest. Maya in a split of a second took out her rapier and charged at the man at full speed. He couldn't react and Maya pierced him straight in the heart. Maya looked up, but instead of a dead man, he saw a wicked smile.
-What a foolish move. – Said the man in an angry voice.
Maya tried to pull the sword out, but it was stuck. She got irritated and jumped back. The man giggled.
-Don't underestimate me, woman. – He said and removed his cloak.
Underneath was a well-built man with white skin. He had a long black coat and pants. Around his eyes were black circles, which looked like they were dripping. Around his hands were silver chains with sharp blades on their ends. He had black eyes with long black hair. Maya got intimidated by the man with a wicked smile. People in red cloaks started approaching her too. The man took out the rapier out of his chest and broke it in half with his knee. Maya got intimidated.
-You can't murder me with toys. – Said the man.
-*Tsk* I knew I needed a better weapon. This one can't even handle my magic! – Thought Maya – I should back off, I can't win in a such state.
-Watch your steps. – Said the man.
Maya turned around. She looked at the man's eyes. They had red symbols. Suddenly, everything around Maya turned black.
-Welcome to my realm, - The man grinned – and your tombstone.
-What is this place? – Shouted Maya.
-You think I will tell you my secrets? I knew you were foolish, and that will be the reason of your death.
The man dashed forwards and swung his arms. The chains followed. Maya dodged them, but they hit the man's arm, cutting it. She noticed it didn't affect him, and it instantly regenerated.
-Who are you!?
The man didn't respond and continued attacking. Maya was way faster than him, and she easily evaded his attacks. The blades on the chains often hit the man, but it didn't hurt him. Maya accidentally bumped into something. She touched it. It was a tree.
-So this is illusion magic. – Said Maya.
The man still didn't respond. He kept wailing his chains, missing completely. Maya was getting tired of this and attacked. She dodged the incoming chain and punched him in the stomach, but the man kicked and knocked Maya back.
-What an unfair ability. – Thought Maya – At this pace, I will run out of stamina and lose.
The man suddenly got knocked down and his arm was chopped off. Maya was shocked. The illusion magic wore off. She saw it was Whitebolt.
-Are you okay? – Whitebolt turned around his head and asked.
Maya nodded her head. Whitebolt looked down and narrowly dodged the man's blade. It still cut his arm. The man stood up. The arm that Whitebolt chopped off started to wither away.
-No one shall stop the return of the true Ruination!
His arm suddenly started to reappear. Whitebolt was surprised.
-He has complete regeneration. – Said Maya.
-So he's immortal? – Asked startled Whitebolt.
The man attacked again. He was faster this time. He hysterically laughed as he tried to kill the two. The people in red cloaks were humming some sort of ritual. Maya and Whitebolt suddenly felt a strong presence. A shadow in a shape of a man flashed in front of them. The man stopped too and looked behind. Suddenly, a blinding light flickered. The people in red cloaks were cut in half and mercilessly killed. Rain of blood was about to dirty them, but Whitebolt created a barrier and blocked it. The man was petrified. He suddenly got pierced and got pinned down on the ground with the sword. He couldn't move. Whitebolt and Maya were at a loss of words.
-Sorry Maya-chan, but after the last incident, I couldn't stay in one place.
A big man in his forties appeared out of nowhere. He had short ginger hair and a mustache. He wore big and heavy armor with a purple cape behind him. It had a white lion symbol on it. The man had a double-edged sword with a massive blade bigger than himself, but not so big handle.
-Father. – Said Maya in a frail voice.
The chained man tried to stood up, but Mayas father pushed the sword deeper in the ground.
-Father? – Whitebolt was confused. He looked at the man closer and gasped. He bowed – The Head Of Elite Guards, Junkara, it's an honor to meet you.
Junkara looked over with his brown eyes. A chill went down Whitebolts spine. For some reason, he was terrified to be standing near him. This was first time for Whitebolt.
-Hm– Said Junkara – We need to take care of him first.
Junkara dragged out the sword from the ground with the chain main still hanging on it. He couldn't pull himself out of the massive sword. Junkara put the sword on his shoulder and walked off. Whitebolt looked up with scared eyes. He was shaking and wiped off cold sweat.
-His presence is enough to petrify you. – Quietly said Maya and followed Junkara.
Whitebolt had no other choice and tagged on. He couldn't understand why the head of elite guards was here.
