Hundreds of kids ran in the Battle Academy gates. They were screaming, cheering on each other and determined to pass. They all gathered in the main field.
-Hello upcoming students! – One man said in a loud voice. He walked up on the stage – I wish you all good luck!
Children started screaming.
-Whoa! Calm down everyone! I see a lot of unique individuals here! – He looked over at the kids – Well then, I don’t want to have you wait here all day, and lets get started.
-Listen guys. – Said Rekka to his friends.
-As you see, there are too many of you. We can’t take everyone in, therefore, we will have a small entrance exam. Please, form into groups of five without any ruckus. If we caught anyone fighting, they will be immediately expelled. – Said the man.
He was a teacher here. He wore a long clock beneath his neck with purple stripes on the ends. Children started forming groups. It was loud, and they bumped at each other frequently. Nobody created a mess though. They were determined to pass.
-Hey, let’s create a group together. – Suggested Rekka.
-Yeah. – Said Kaito in excitement.
Maeko nodded her head. They were all excited, but Sora seemed sad.
-Hey. – He said.
-What’s the matter? – Asked Rekka.
-I will join an another team.
-WHAT!? – Maeko, Kaito and Rekka said at the same time.
-Why? – Asked Confused Kaito.
-I have my reasons. – Sora then ran in the crowd.
-Hey wait! – Kaito tried to run after him, but Rekka pulled him back – What are you doing? We are going to lose him!
Rekka remembered Soras expression when they fought.
-Let him be. I’m sure he will pass.
Kaito stopped after he saw how Rekka looked.
-Okay, let’s cheer him on.
Maeko was worried too.
-Let’s search for our teammates then. – She quietly said.
Others agreed and they started looking. Everyone’s group was already formed. They were worried. Children were talking to each other, discussing plans and how to pass. Suddenly Rekka caught a glimpse of two girls sitting in a corner of the gates.
-Hey, I think I found them. – Said Rekka and ran off.
Some children looked at him because of his appearance, but Rekka didn’t pay attention. His friends followed him. Rekka noticed that the two girls were twin demi humans.
-Umm. – He slowly approached them.
The girls eyes brightened.
-Yes? – They said in sync.
-Would you like to umm. – Rekka was nervous.
-Yes? – The girls were raising their tone.
-Would you join our group? – Awkwardly said Rekka with a smile.
-We will! – The two girls stood up.
They had cat ears, but a dog tail.
-Hello. – Kaito waved his hand at them. He noticed they looked weird.
Maeko made a weird smile.
-Nobody took us in their group for some reason. – They said in a sad tone – But thanks to you, we can participate!
The girls were identical twins and talked at the same tame. They started to walk up to Rekka, which made him nervous.
-Can I help you? – He asked.
-You look cool! – They said – You are definitely strong!
-Yeah. – Rekka took a weird pose and nervously giggled.
-Okay kids! – Shouted the man on the stage – Get ready, the exam is about to start!
Everyone went silent and looked at the man.
-For the first stage, everyone group must take a magic test. If the group doesn’t average 250 PL, they will be expelled!
The kids got nervous. Rekkas jaw dropped.
-250!? – He thought – That is way too low! – He turned around and looked at the girls. They got worried – What’s your PL?
-We don’t know. – They smiled.
In total were 46 groups of children. After the first stage, 43 groups were left. Rekka watched as sad children left the gates. A guard walked up to his group with magic tests. He started explaining to them how to use it. Up first was Maeko. She used the test and the guard was left amazed.
-800 PL, impressive. Does anyone else want to check?
Kaito raised his hand.
-750 PL. Are you kids trained? These numbers are too high.
-Yes, for a year. – Answered Kaito – Maeko was higher PL? - He thought.
-Anyone else? – Asked the guard.
-Us! – The cat girls raised their hads.
They both had 300 PL.
-That’s good Mari! Good job!
-You too Mira!
They hugged each other. The guard smiled, then turned his head towards Rekka.
-How about you?
-No thanks. – Quietly said Rekka.
-Well, I need everyone PL scroll. I have no other choice. – Said the guard, trying to not scare away the kid.
-B-but…
-Don’t worry! You have already passed the first stage. It wont matter.
-O-okay.
Rekka approached the guard. He wore the gloves Whitebolt gifted him. He started flowing his MP in the scroll. He finished and nervously gulped.
-Let’s see. – The guard looked at the scroll. He stated at it for a minute.
-Umm, what’s the number? – Asked Rekka.
-I think this seal is not working properly. – The guard awkwardly giggled – Well, good luck!
The guard left them.
-Unlucky. – Mari put her hand on Rekkas shoulder – By the way, introduce yourselves to us!
-Oh right. – Said Rekka.
They all got to know introduced themselves. Rekka lied about the most of his story.
-Upcoming students, it’s time for the second stage! – Said the man on the stage – Out of 46 groups, 42 are left! Well, for our next stage, we are all going to spar with each other.
-I hope Sora passed. – Thought the kids.
